My friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer go tthe all clear and has been clear until last week (2 yrs) they have told her she now has liver cancer and that they may be able to control it but not eliminate it. She has 5 kids under 14. How much hope is there for her? pls be honest with me.

When your friend was operated two years ago, what kind of after treatment did she receive? Chemo? Radiation? I'm very curious, I just was operated for breast cancer and also got the all clear, but I still have to take 6 Chemo treatments and radiation after I completed the Chemo.

So sorry about your friend.
I go to another website and they have a section for advanced breast cancer.
From reading their posts, many of the ladies live several years with a decent quality of life. No one, including the doctor's, know how long each person will live.
Although a devastating diagnosis, I think there is hope. A support group of women dealing with advanced BC, whether online or through the hospital, might be good, so your friend is with others who "understand."
They usually say stage 4 is a "chronic disease," not usually curable but treatable. From the other site I have learned, there are many, many new treatment drugs and new ones coming out every year.
Hope this is of some help.
