View Full Version : Charting temp question...

So I'm trying to go the natural route this time around and been charting my temps and have a question. I had a dip in temperature M, T, & W and did BD on M & T (when CM was the right consistency;)) and had the spike on Thursday indicating my O. But, now I'm confused. I thought my temp was supposed to stay up or not drop back down after O, but this morning, my temp was lower than when I had that dip before O?? It was a bit earlier than the other days, but not by much. I have also gotten some weird cramping the past couple of days. I'm not sure what to make of this.
I've been reading about progesterone levels and how that keeps your temp "hi" after O and during the luteal(?) phase. Could this mean my progesterone is low? Could it go back up if and when I may conceive? Someone help me figure this out!! Thanks!

Hello, I am going through the confusing temp charting and have asked a bunch of questions too in a below post of "consultation appt today" There really aren't a bunch of answers there but I know your frustration. I am almost at the end of my 2WW and I am nervously taking my temp to see if it drops dramatically. That happens right before AF. Be sure to take your temp at the same time everyday. I actually don't seem to get a huge spike when I am about to O so I am convinced they aren't 100% true readings. B/W then confirms I O'ed just fine. Earlier will make it lower, later will make it higher. I think your sleeping situation has something to do with the temp if you temp as soon as you get up. Like if you have warm PJ's and warm blankets on you, it seems to be higher. All summer my temps were low and that is when I didn't use blankets and the central air was on. As for the progesterone, that can be checked a week after you O. That will tell if you had a good O or not. I was a point over the "acceptable" number so I am now on progesterone just for added assurance. Hopefully I answered a few questions for you.
