I just thought I would start a new thread for anyone who has already started or will be starting their cycles whether it be IVF, IUI or natural.
I am 4 days into my IVF cycle and Im on synarel which is like lupron. I will hopefully be starting my stims at the end of next week or begining of the following week. Wishing everyone all the best and hope to see lots of BFP's very soon.

Hi Cashahn, What a good idea to start this. I have my baseline on Tuesday and if everything is quiet, I'll be starting stims on Friday. I'm very excited and can't believe that ER is just over two weeks away!!!
My Lupron is going well but the headaches have arrived. I've read that you can't take anything except for Tylenol during your IVF and since Tylenol does nothing for my headaches...I'll just have to suffer!;) However, I'm currently taking 20 units which will go down to 5 on Wednesday...so I'm hoping that will help!
I hope all is going well with you and we are both celebrating BFPs soon! - April

Hey Cashahn and April! I'm excited for you guys and can't wait to follow your progress. And April, it really should help your headaches when the lupron dose goes down to 5 units. It definitely makes a difference. I actually forgot about the headaches.... yuck, not looking forward to that again. ;)
I could be an April IVFer but don't really know for sure. Hopefully on Monday they'll give me a bit more info on my schedule. Of course I'll keep you posted. And in the meantime I'll be checking on you guys constantly!

Well I woke up this morning with the worst headache, but luckily it has subsided now, I was getting worried yesterday as I hadnt had any side effects from the synarel (silly I know I should be thankful), although AF is due in a few days so the headache maybe because of that.
Kari goodluck at your appt cant wait to hear when you will be starting your next cycle, hopefully you havent got too long to wait. Not sure when next appt is I think it will be Saturday or Monday depending on when AF arrives, hopefully I will be starting stims on Monday.
April goodluck for tomorrow I hope all is quiet and you can get started with the stims. Our BFP's are getting closer by the day.
Holly thank you for your support and I wish you all the best for your cycle. I hope to see you posting your BFP very soon.

Hi girls. Had my appointment this morning and all went well. My lining was thin as it should be and the follies are small. So, it's a go for stims on Friday and then I'll be back in for BW on Sunday. My headaches have subsided quite a bit and I'm starting to thing they were because of AF (which came on Sunday). They haven't been so bad since then.
Cashahn, I'm sorry about that headache. But I'm hoping when AF arrives it won't be so bad anymore. Hope your week of waiting is going well!
Kari, I'm still very sorry that your numbers didn't drop as you hoped they would. I'll be hoping you can get in on Friday and see the zero you're waiting for. Then you'll be able to join us soon with your own cycle!
Holly, I can't wait to hear about your retrieval tomorrow. Hopefully BF is able to crank himself out of bed! I know you won't have a problem...I'm sure you'll be too excited!
Hazel, thanks for your well wishes!!!

Hi everyone,
I am new to this site. I just had ET last WED. and my Beta result is sched for sat 3/8. I had three embryos put back, one was excellent quality, 2nd was very good, and third was average. I'm very anxious and was just wondering if anyone knows if I should be showing any signs or symptoms yet?
Thanks,

Hi Krissy and welcome to the IF boards. This is my 1st cycle and Ive only just started, but like all the ladies here I have been through many 2ww and its and anxious time and we do tend to over analyze every sign and symptom, the thing to remember is that everyones body is different and responds differently to pregnancy so dont worry if you dont have any symptoms yet it may just be too early. Wishing you all the best for your beta and keep us posted on your progress. Sticky babydust.
Holly all the best for your E/R cant wait hear how it all goes, I hope you get lots of big and healthy eggs and I wish you a speedy recovery.
April thats great news how exciting that you are starting stims on Friday and Im glad your headahes are better.

I thought I would join in. I haven't posted in a while. This is my first cycle for IVF. So far so good. I am almost in the 2ww, which will be so hard.
Just a quick review: I had a set back of 3 weeks due to elevated Prolactin. Once that was regulated with meds, I started my stims; I had my retrieval Monday morning (11 retrieved) and will do a 5-day transfer this Saturday. They called me today and told me that I have 7 fertilized and they look really good. They will call me tomorrow morning just to make sure there is no reason to do a 3-day transfer, but my doctor prefers 5-day. Myself and DH are really excited and optimistic. Not sure how many we will transfer. RE will help us with that decision.
Best of luck to everyone in their March/April cycles. It goes by faster than you think. Baby Dust to all!:angel:

Krissy, good luck with your BETA on Saturday! You're almost there! As Cashahn has said, it's so hard to determine what is a symptom of pregnancy and what is a symptom of AF! I think we all struggle with that during our 2wws. Try to stay sane!
TNT, sounds like you had a very successful retrieval on Monday! Congrats. I'm sure your RE will help you with the decision on how many to put back. I know my RE will not put more than two back (I'm under 35). Good luck on Saturday and I'm very excited to see how things go for you. How have you been feeling since the transfer? Have you been sore?
Hope everyone is doing well with their cycles. - April

Hey Ladies, just thought I'd stop by with an update. My Lupron went down yesterday to 5 units and I start stims tomorrow! I'm very excited (but a little scared about all we have riding on this cycle!). Question for you...I woke up this morning and my cheeks are bright red and very hot. I actually feel my cheeks on my face, if that makes sense. Has anyone run into this? I haven't started anything new, just decreased the Lupron. Do you think that's it?
I hope everyone is going well and thanks for the tornado (Hazel) and barrels (Amy) of baby dust. I imagine all this glittery stuff floating around me! - April

April, I haven't heard of the hot cheeks thing before, but I am willing to bet it has something to do with the lupron. Anything that feels out of the oridnary these days I am usually confident the IF treatments have something to do with it. ;) Hope you are feeling okay today. Good luck with the stims tomorrow! April its sounds a bit like a hot flash, my nurse at the education appt said this may be one of the symptoms you experience, if you are concerned at all maybe give your nurse a call just to put your mind at ease, Im sure its nothing to worry about though. Im so excited that you start your stims tomorrow (which is my today as Im a day ahead of you guys here in Australia, Im in the future LOL), its already Friday here. It looks as though I will be starting stims on Tuesday so Im not far behind you. So far Im still doing good on the synarel and apart from a couple of headaches which could be attributed to AF on her way I havent had any side effects, I really hope it stays that way on the stims too.
Kari how are you doing? I really hope those numbers go down soon so you can plan for your next cycle.

Hi April,
That does sound like hot flashes to me too. I felt warm all over a few times during this cycle. I'm sure it has something to do w/ the meds. So stims start today, huh? WOO HOO!!!!! You're officially on your way! I'm so excited for you! :D Make sure you let us know how everything goes!
Cashahn, good luck starting your stims next week! You & April are so close now! Can't wait to follow both of your cycles. :D

Thanks for all your replys ladies. It didn't feel like a hot flash I got with Clomid. The rest of me was actually cold, it was just my cheeks that were burning up. It was gone by the end of the day though, so I'll just attribute it to hormones and move on!
My first day of stims started off okay. My Lupron of course was a piece of cake. I also had my Menopur this morning. I had some difficulty because I was using a QCap to take in the liquid from the vial and I kept getting this giant air bubble. I couldn't tap it out and it continued to happen everytime I tried. So, I just proceeded with the air bubble and it ended up working okay. I don't know if anyone else has used the QCap before. It makes it easier to get all the meds into your syringe, but the bubble thing is throwing me off! Oh well, it worked! Tonight is my Gonal F which should be easy too as I've done that before. I go in for BW on Sunday to make sure we don't need to adjust any doses.
Cashahn, I'm very excited for you to be so close behind me. When will you find out for sure when your stims start? Still waiting on AF?
Holly, Thanks for your excitment. I am absolutely thrilled to be starting stims! Things are going to go so quick from here! I can't wait to hear how your embies are doing!
Kari, Thanks for stopping by. I've been thinking about you a lot and hoping you get a big fat zero today. As I said above, I'll be doing Menopur (75 units) and they decided to be safe and keep me at 150 of Gonal F. They can always adjust up, but I really don't think they'll need to, since I has previously gotten up to 10 or more follies on only 3 days at 150 and 2 at 75.
Mapia, Thanks so much for your well wishes. It means a lot to me that you are continuely checking in. You're a great friend!
Krissy, Baby dust right back at you! Hope everything is going well with your cycle and you'll have some good news soon!

Hi April, I'm glad your first stim injections went okay. :) I had the big air bubbles w/ the Q cap too. Most of them, I was able to tap out, but some of them were more stubborn, so I jut injected w/. Good luck w/ your next injection!!! :D

April, well that q-cap thing just sounds confusing to me! But I know it's supposed to make things easier, so hopefully you've got it all figured out. On my first IVF cycle I did repronex which I think is very similar to menopur. Do you do the injections in your thigh, bum or tummy? It's good that you've used gonal-f before. I always find starting a new type of injection to be a little nerve-wracking so it's good you've already had experience with at least one. When is your first monitoring appointment? I'm so excited to follow your progress!
Cashahn, thinking of you and anxious to hear when the stims will be starting for your cycle.

Hi Cashahn, I do give all my injections to myself. DH works out of town Monday - Thursday every week so I'm kind of forced to. It's not really a big deal though. I've even given myself a trigger shot in my backside. Good thing I'm flexible :D! I'll have to give myself the Progesterone in Oil shots after retrieval anyway...so it's good I can do it.

Kari, again, I'm hoping your BW tomorrow is down to zero and you can move on to a new cycle!

Hey April! I was wondering if you had gotten in today for bloodwork or an u/s. Sounds like they took your E2 level and then the next step will be an ultrasound? I'll be anxious to hear that first report on your follies! Good luck tomorrow!!!!!!!!:angel::angel:
Cashahn, excited for your update too!
I'll be going in tomorrow for bloodwork to confirm HCG is at zero and I just spoke to my NP today to make sure she'll have my calendar ready. From the little bit of talking we did today I got the impression she may not have me start BCP until my next AF, which is kinda disappointing. If that's the case, we could easily be looking at May for E/R and E/T. Guess I'll know for sure tomorrow.

I hope it's not the case though. I'll be praying for that zero and a nice calendar in addition!! Hope you're doing well. I know it's been a rough couple weeks for you.

Hello girls! Well now that I have recovered from my BFN on thurs. and AF is here, I was able to schedule my FET for Apr. 3rd. Starting to get excited again. Cashahn, I hope your first day of stims went well. What are you taking?
Curry, sorry to hear about your BFN but I'm glad you're on track for FET in April.
I had an US and BW this morning. I had two follies around 10 and the rest were still smaller. So it's still pretty early for me. I'm surprised though, because the other times I've been on Gonal F I've progressed very fast. It must be the other drugs holding me back a bit this time. I'm okay with that, because as I've heard many times, it's really a matter of quality over quantity (Holly is a prime example!).
Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday. - April

Good Morning Everyone!
Krissy, I've been thinking of you and have been looking for your post to let us all know how your results turned out. Please keep us posted.

Good Luck with the wait, baby dust to all!

April, I would def be willing to guess that it's the lupron supressing the growth a little bit. Me and Holly are truly excellent examples of quality over quantity (me on the other, bad end of course ;) ). When do they have you going back for your next u/s appt? Did they have you adjust your meds at all? I'll be standing by waiting for your very next update!
Cashahn, hope the first day of stims went well! So will they do an u/s on Monday as well, or is it just the bloodwork?
Curry, I'll have my fingers crossed that this frozen transfer will get the job done for you. Please keep us posted.

Hi Cashahn, I asked in my post when you would start stims, and now I see that you have already started! How exciting!! :D Looking forward to hearing how your first monitoring appt goes!
April, it sounds like your first appt went great. I agree that it is most likely the lupron slowing things down, which is good. Definitely quality over quantity, we've all been a witness to that. Hope your legs stop bruising, I know it's scary injecting near bruises. Can't wait to hear your next update!

Hi Ladies! Thanks for all the encouragement. I'm going to keep telling myself that my follies progressed quickly before, but I didn't get my BFP. So maybe they're taking their time this time and I'll get my BFP.
I was reading my horoscope yesterday out a magazine. It was for next week when I'll most likely have my ER and ET. I'm not usually too into those things, but this one seemed to speak to me. It said something about the things I will dream about and if I believe in them enough, they just might come true. So, I'm going to keep telling myself that I'll be pregnant next week and for 9 months to follow. (I think I'm going crazy!:D)
I've got another monitoring appointment tomorrow morning so hopefully we'll see a bit more progress. Hope everyone is doing well! - April

Cashahn, I'm so glad you're finding your stims to be no big deal. I hope you're feeling okay so far and things continue to be easy. It sure makes the whole cycle easier when the meds aren't a pain!
Holly, I hope you're feeling okay. I think those cramps have to be implantation...don't you think it's way early for AF? Try not to drive yourself crazy (although I'm sure I'll be in the same position in a couple weeks!). Hang in there!

Well, my appointment went well this morning and I'm feeling more encouraged. I have about 10 follies between 10 and 14, and a bunch smaller than that. They're still taking their sweet time, but I'm really excited that they're all about the same size! The bummer is that I'll have to continue stims through Monday or Tuesday...which means I'll have to order more because I only had enough to get me through Sunday! AHHHHH. Oh well. The nurse thought I would trigger on Monday or Tuesday, which would make ER Wednesday or Thursday. I go in again Saturday for another US and BW. YAYYYY!
On another note, I strongly dislike the phlebotomist (sp?). Every morning when I go in, I pull up my sleeve and she gives me this look like I'm a complete moron. I just don't know which vien she wants to use since they're getting bruised, and she offers no advice! She acts like it's up to me. Okay, rant over.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK! - April

Hey April!!! I was so excited for your update! I snuck a few minutes away from hanging with my parents cause I knew both you and Charlene would have some good news to post today.... and it sounds like it was really good news for the both of you!!!! Your follies sound wonderful!!! :blob_fire:bouncing::blob_fire Those eggs are going to be nice and perfectly mature when it comes time for trigger! Too bad you have to order more meds... I've been there and that hurts sometimes just as much as the shots themselves! ;) Well keeping on hanging in there... I'll be looking for your next update on Saturday!
Cashahn, hope the stim shots are continuing to go well for you my friend!
Krissy, congrats to you on a well deserved BFP!!!! Wishing you and baby a healthy, uneventful nine months!
And now that I've gotten my calendar and have confirmed that I'll be starting stims on 4/25 I'm anxious to hear who else will be doing an IVF cycle late-April/early-May! BFP's for everybody!

Hazel, thanks for the encouragement...one more day down. ;)
April, that is fabulous that you've got so many follies and that they're all at the same size!! It sounds like things are going exactly as they should. Sorry it's taking a little longer than they thought it would & that you need to order more meds (that truly does suck), but I really believe the slower the better. Hang in there...next week will be here before you know it! :D

Congratulations, April! Everything sounds really great. You are on your way now. Just a side note: I didn't much like one of my plebotomist (sp) either. She actually told me once, right before I was going to my RE's to have a Lap surgery, that I should try green tea to get pregnant. I know she meant well, but we had already discussed my situation. I felt like saying,"Thank you so much for that information. I will cancel my surgery and just drink green tea." Plus, isn't it safe to assume if we are at this point in our IF journey, we have tried it all. Anyway, just thought I would share.
Good luck at your next appointment.

Good Morning everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. Work has been kicking my butt. Actually finding it helpful to stay busy. I want to start taking some of this weight off, but I don't know if I should before my transfer. Oh, my transfer is set for april 3rd. at 1:30. I have to take the day off, and thinking about taking friday off too, being that it's a busy day at the spa.
Krissy, congrats on your BFP, I was worried about you and was hoping everything was ok. I had my 2nd. accupuncture appt. yesterday, and I seemed to relax a lot more.
Good Luck to you all, I think March/April is going to be a good month!

Hi Everyone sorry I havent been in for a few days, DF had a car accident and so Im his taxi and courier at the moment, everytime he wants something at work I get a call to go and get it so he is keeping me busy. Well Im still doing well with the injections in fact I find them very easy and have only gotten one bruise which was from the first one I gave myself, but sometimes I really do feel like I can feel my overies working overtime, anyone else ever felt that?
Im so glad to see everyone seems to be progressing really well.
Kari Im so excited for you, your cycle will be here before you know it and I pray it will bring your a BFP.
April your E/R is so close now and it sounds like those follies are growing nicely.
Curry all the best for your transfer, I hope it all goes smoothly and results in a BFP.
I really wish everyone all the best and heaps of sticky babydust.

TNT, Kari and Holly, thanks for the well wishes! It means a lot that you take time to see how I'm doing.
Curry, I'm glad you've got your appointment all set up. It will certainly be here before you know it!
Cashahn, I'm so glad your shots are going well. I also feel like my ovaries are in over drive. At least we know something is working!
I had another appointment this morning. It went really well and I had a new nurse and loved her! She was very nice. It turns out that I have 4 follies in the "zone" (15mm - 20mm) that they like to see. My largest was 18 but I had a few more around 14. And then I had quite a few more that were larger than 10. On Thursday I had gotten the call after they reviewed my BW and they decided to decrease my Gonal on Friday to 75 units. Well, the nurse today wants to go back up to 150...but she obviously hasn't seen my BW yet, so that could change. She thought there was a small chance I'd be ready to trigger tomorrow, but most likely Monday. I'm guessing it will be Monday, because if they trigger tomorrow with ER on Tuesday, my ET would be Sunday...and they're closed for Easter. So, I'll be back in tomorrow for another progress report.
Good luck to everyone...I really hope this cycle works for us all. I've got to go catch up with everyone else's threads...I'm so behind! Enjoy your weekend! - April

Hey Cashahn! I'm looking forward to your update! I saw your post on April's thread about your E2 (btw, did I read that right? Is it really 3500 already?). I think you have your first ultrasound today! I can't wait to hear all about your follies! Hope you are feeling well my friend!
April, you know I'm still super excited for your E/R tomorrow!
Hazel, sounds like you are gonna be right behind my IVF in May! Fingers crossed for you girl!

Yep Kari you did read that right on Monday my E2 was already at 3500 and that was only after 6 days of stims, Im so scared Im going to end up with OHSS but it looks like I might. My U/S this morning revealed 27 follies about 18 of those were around 10-15mm and my lining is 8.1mm so everythiing is looking great apart from the fact I may be responding a little to well, I guess I will know more when I get the B/W results this afternoon. My next U/S is on Friday and if all is well Ill trigger on Saturday and E/R will be on Monday. Well I hope everyone else is doing well and I wish you all the very best. Sticky babydust.

Oh wow Cashahn, you really are a super responder... I know the feeling friend. It's scary the risk of OHSS but when u get that BFP it'll be worth it!!! Just stay very hydrated and consume electrolytes as much as you can. Saturday isn't too far so you'll be triggering before you know it!!! I'll be anxious for your next update... Please keep us posted!!!!

Well I just got my B/W results back and my E2 is up to 11000 so if my cycle doesnt get cancelled we will go ahead with E/R but the embies will be frozen and none will be put back this cycle, its disappointing but if I can just get to the E/R then at least I will have gotten that part done and I can do a FET next cycle. Wishing everyone all the best.

Cashahn honey, I'm so sorry things aren't going as planned. It's so crazy how differently we all respond to these meds. Makes you wonder how the drs ever get it right. I'll be praying very hard that your cycle is not cancelled & that you at least get to freeze your embies so you will not have to go through the stimming process again. Sending you hugs & luck.

Cashahn, I'm so sorry your E2 is so high! I'll be praying your cycle doesn't get canceled and you're at least able to freeze all those embryos. Have they at least backed off on your stims? Are they just coasting you? I'll be thinking of you! - April

Oh my gosh Cashahn, I am so sorry :( This is bringing back some very scary memories for me with my first IVF stim attempt. I hope they can allow you to coast for a couple days and then move forward with the E/R... I've been there and I know how much you must want that result. So don't ever give up hope. Take care of yourself right now... that is the most important thing. I'm thinking of you and praying for you. Please let us know how they decide to proceed. (((hugs))) Kari

Thank you everyone for your support and kind words, I will be having more B/W and U/S tomorrow but in the meantime they have kept me on the stims I would have thought they would have backed me off or coasted me I guess I just have to trust that they know what they are doing. I felt really awful yesterday but not too bad today so hopefully thats a good sign. Anyway I guess Ill no more tomorrow. Thanks again for your support Im not sure what I would do without all you wonderful ladies. All the best.
