Hi Guys,
After going through an extremely traumatizing love and job affairs, I think my body has finally reach its limit and toil and I broke down completely. I decided that the time has come for me to take control of my life and I had a saliva test sent to a lab and my results are posted below. I have been feeling pretty tired, suicidal and depressive for a couple of years coupled by other health problems like eczema and body aching. I always know something is wrong somewhere but not too sure what it is.

I am pretty confused right now, and will be really grateful if u guys can give me ur interpretations of my results. My result shows elevated cortisol in the morning and "rather" normal cortisol level in the afternoon and night YET my DHEA is pretty low, too low for someone my age. I am currently 32 years old and I am male.

SALIVA
ADRENOCORTEX STRESS PROFILE

Result Range
CORTISOL PROFILE AM <42.8> 6.0-42.0nmol/l
CORTISOL PROFILE AFTERNOON <6.7> 0.0-15.0 nmol/l
CORTISOL PROFILE PM (2) <6.8> 2.0-11.0 nmol/l
CORTISOL PROFILE,EVENING <5.4> 1.0-8.0 nmol/l
DHEAS PROFILE AM <1.4> 5.0-30.0nmol/l
DHEAS/CORTISOL RATIO <0.03> 0.20-0.60

Do u guys think I am suffering from Adrenal Fatigue or is it some other problems?

I have ordered Dr Wilson's book and it will be with me 2 weeks later. If u guys think adrenal fatigue is what I have, I will also be buying the supplements formulated by Dr Wilson!

Thanks a lot!
regards
Samstom

p/s:Guys pls bear with me on the results, I had it type all nicely and for some reasons, they are rather compressed when I post it, I hope u guys are ok with it, I am really sorry!

Im not sure if this showing adrenal fatigue or not.. Kinda looks like everything is staying a bit elevated.. If Im correct I think the cortisol should be higher in the morning and slowly decline through out the day.. Yours did decline from the mornings which is normal then once it declined its kinda staying at a steady pace of being in the middle..
showing stress ..

I think if this continues you could be on your way to adrenal fatigue..
Is there anything you can do to rid yourself from stress.. Such as a walk or something? Or maybe take some Vit B's?

Maybe someone here can offer more of an input Im at lost with most of this stuff.. Hope you feel better soon just hang in there.. Take Care

Any particular reason why you are trying to treat yourself with a book instead of going to a doctor? That can be dangerous with adrenals... they are necessary for life.
I do know it takes a lot to get attention - but are your symptoms gaining or losing weight?
You do seem more on the high side than low - pointing more towards Cushing's than insuffiency. It could be cyclical. A lot of the symptoms overlap and the stressed out feeling, fatigue and all - well, happen with both. I had Cushing's and have no adrenals now so I er, know from experience.
Are you craving salt? Salt tablets help... but I don't know of any other stuff that does - you have to watch getting too much potassium.
I may not be around for your reply as I am going to be away for 5 days - a hospital stay for treatment. Sorry.

No, I do not have a weight problem, in fact I am having a bit of a problem gaining weight recently and I am thin like a stick with a BMI of 21. I do have carvings for food be it sweet and salty.

I am at my wit's end and I hope others can give me more ideas, thanks a lot!

Your numbers seem a little on the high to normal side.
I had a saliva test done and the results are as follows:
DHEAS is high is 14.1 for my age 38 female, that is high.
My Cortisol is:
Am 1.0 supposed to bee 3.7-6.5
Noon-3.0 supposed to be 1.2-3
evening-.8 supposed to be .6-1.9
night .3 supposed to me .4-1
My doctor started me on 80 mg of hydrocort, however I started to get severe cramping in my legs and bad swelling in my ankles and legs. He told me to come off for a day and start back one day with one than 2 until I am back up again and than come down slowly again.
Any ideas what this could all be???????????????Could this be Addisons from my numbers?

Samstom - you really need to see a doc - your numbers are weird. You need to get some all around testing.

Bugsmom - your doctor needs to be shot, IMHO. 80mg!!!! What is he thinking? A complete replacement dose for me, who has NO adrenals, is 22.5mg. and that suffices on a normal day to sustain me for life. At 80mg, he will give you Cushing's syndrome. In about a week. A replacement dose for an adult can be 15-30mg. But not 80. Not on a regular basis.

Going up and down like that is likely to do more damage to your adrenals than help. That dose will totally suppress them, and damage your muscles, bones, well, cripes, just about everything. Since you aleady took it, taper off it slowly by reducing it as you can daily. Did he tell you to take it in divided doses? Reduce both doses as you can so you don't have an adrenal crisis. After that, get another doctor.
