Can anyone tell me the difference between Metoprolol succinate, Metoprolol tartrate, and Metoprolol? Are these all the same med. or do they work totally different? I seem to be getting mixed answers, some sites lead me to believe they are the same and others act like they are different? Thanks:confused:

To best of my knowledge succinate is the extended release (long lasting) and usually just taken once a day. Tartrate will work faster but not last as long. I take metoprolol succinate just once a day.

Take care,
