Hi

Does anyone have similiar reactions esp when you bend over? I notice that's when my heart flutters/skips the most. When I BEND or when I am sitting bending and not sitting up straight. I mean, my chest is a little bent over. Does anyone know why exactly and can this damage my heart? I don't know what to think.

Oh btw, My blood pressure is in the range of 100/46 at nighttime. Is this ok? Is this causing it too?

I have the same thing, do you also feel this abnormal beating most of all in your throat ? According to people on this board you might also be suffering from PVC's. Lots of people seem to have skipped beats being triggered by bending over.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. No, I do not feel any sensationg in my throat. But I feel it in my chest. No pain or anything, just that when it happens, I get short of breath and I sort of "jump" or I cough. It lasts for only a few seconds, but when they occur, it's really scary. What exactly are PVCs? Are they the same as MVP? My doctors listened to my heart during a regular checkup with a stethescope. If I had either one, would the stehthescope would have picked it up?

Are PVC's dangerous? How long have you been having them? I've had mine since I was 21 and now I'm 29. Is this damaging our hearts?

The doctor told me to tell you not to bend over.... just kidding! I use to have skipped beats, Dr. put me on Toprol XL... I didn't like the side effects so stop taking it. I also stopped drinking so many sodas (only 1 a day now) and I drink an enormous amount of plain drinking water and have not had a skipped beat in over 2 months. Guess I got over it somehow?

Hi. I've been experiencing the skipped beats/flutters for the last 10 years. I experience them too when I bend over. Like you it causes me to cough which usually gets things back in to a normal rhythm. I've been evaluated by 3 different cardiologists, all of which couldnt find anything (other than a slightly narrowed mitral valve, which apparently isnt causing any of my sysmptoms). I recently started an exercise program (need to drop atleast 50lbs) and noticed almost immediately that exercising has relieved alot of the skipped/fluttering feelings.I encourage you to start a mild exercise program and see if it helps. My dr's (family practitioner and cardiologists) had been telling me for the last year to start exercising but i was too lazy. Now i wish i had started when they told me to. I have read several peoples posts who have found relief from their skips/flutters with moderate exercise--you might want to give it a try. Good luck to you.
