Hi - I am new to the boards, and I am having some serious problems with my anger. My husband just told me I was stupid and to shut up. This happened after my son (24) got up this morning and needed a paper printed for school, which he had since last Thursday to complete. I had to put it in a different format, and he had saved as an adobe file, so that had to be changed, printed it, then he decided the margins were not right, so I reformated the margins, the he decided he wanted them changed to the original......I was mad when he went out the door, which was when my husband, the step-dad, threw the remote and told me I was being stupid and to shutup. I am furious, furious, and just want to smash his face in and then he tells me that he is not going to be my punching bag......what would you do. I am in DBT, therapy, psychiatrist treatments, but this was in my opinion plain meaness after I had done everything I could to make this kid happy. I also, did tell him before he went out the door that he'd had since last week to get this done....then....he even called me on the cell phone to let me know how he was right and I was wrong. I just stated, I was wrong, whatever and hung up on him. What should I have done......

Hi Sadie, I am sorry that everyone gets mad at your house easily. Would it help if you could seperate their reactions a bit from yourself? They are seperate people from you. I hope this makes sense. These are basically boundaries. I did a lot of work on mine and it was very helpful. Everyone has the right to respond and if you could get back a bit from their responses it could help you to feel better.
