I really tense when I have to sign things in publicc. I have very mild cerebral palsy which isn't obvious until I am placed in a social setting, as in signing my name in public. I guess to best describe it, my hand is not relaxed, it does not shake, but it is just tense (as if someone is pinning my hand to the table & I'm trying to lift it up - that feeling.)
Even getting my change is somewhat stressing as well. Though of become better over the years...i'm 30.....and now the tensing is more out of the blue.
However, does anyone have this problem? Is it social phobia? How do you deal with it.

Hi Chrissy, from reading your previous posts you seem to do worse when not relaxed out in public. Does the possibility of being scrutinized make you really nervous?

Hi Sannah, I guess it does make me more nervous, the idea of being scrutinized in public. I guess I never really got over it.
i was just curious to see maybe anyone suffers anything similar, how they deal with it, etc.
I remember in high school a friiend had a similar issue. She felt nervous signing in front of others. She didn't have a physical disability, but she was a nervous character. I remember I asked her about it but I cant seem to remember her telling me how she dealt withi t....I guess to just put yourself in the same position every chance you get? I've tried that and it helps to a certain degree, but I guesss sometimes it just triggers a setback and it is very upsetting for me....and it really feels like someone is pinning my hand to the table and i'm trying to lift them up or go against the force, so to speak.

Hi Chrissy, if you felt good enough about yourself this would override what others would think about you.
