Hey everyone. I am not sure exactly were I should post this. Maybe this is the right place.

My Granddaddy is 84 years old. He had a light stroke about 7 years ago that affected is right eye. He improved.

Over the past month, he has started having dizziness and weakness on his right side. He drags his right leg when he tries to walk. His doctor prescribed physical therapy with only slight improvement.

Friday morning, we found him in the floor because he got weak and could not get up.

We immediately convinced him that he needed to get to the ER. After several tests, the ER doctor said that it appeared that he may of had a light stroke sometime last week but the damage was done then and would not cause continued weakness.

He is currently still inthe hospital and having every test you can imagine run on him (ekg, eeg, mri, arterial ultrasound, etc...) They removed his oxygen about lunch yesterday so more tests could be done. He has never had to have oxygen before as his levels have always been good.

This morning, he woke up feeling worse then he has this whole time and I am worried. If surgery is needed, they cannot perform it for risk of putting him to sleep.

What is going on here? He has 3 doctors and we still know nothing.

Sometimes the waiting is unbareable - hang in there. Many times the causes are on a borderline level and it's often difficult to hit the mark with a diagnosis. Your doctors are no doubt doing their best.

Meanwhile be strong for your Granddaddy. His probably just as worried as you are.

The doctor just came around and said that my Granddaddy's proble may be with his aortic valve and may require replacement.

A cardiac catherization will be done tomorrow to determine for sure.
