I have been feeling a burning sensation on the surface of my penis quite a bit lately. Starting mid january, and continued for 3-4 weeks. Then cooled off for 2-3 weeks but I could still feel it daily, it would come and go. Now its back for the last 2-3 days on a continuous basis. Never any blisters, just burning sensation on shaft. Perhaps some redness, but its very slight.

I am assuming I have girlfriends hsv. She had one genital outbreak 5 yrs ago, and has tingling once every 2 months or so, no other outbreaks. She has not been tested, so doesn't know if its 1 or 2.

I was tested wth immunobot IgG, + for hsv1 I91, - for hsv2. test taken Feb. 13, last possible exposure mid jan. just before symptoms showed up. Clinic doctor referred me to urologist as he i baffled, but appt. is 7 weeks away. I would like relief from symptoms now, and don't want to pass it on to other partners if it is hsv.

Is it possibly something else? What can I do about symptoms?
