Hey Holly, Good Luck my dear. You sure chose to be an "early bird" tomorrow :D. My retrieval was at 6:30 too, a long time ago. But the good news is that you can take a nap while everyone else is working. I remember my DH being more stressed about that day than me. You know, performance
anxiety ;).

Hi Holly, I've been feeling pretty icky lately, but I knew you had your big appointment tomorrow so it helped me to get motivated and get on-line so that I could wish you luck. You girls are so sweet, thank you once again! :angel: We just got home & I thought I would check in before trying to nap. Everything went smoothly, but we are a little disappointed that they only got 9 eggs this time around. Last time we got 26 and only 13 were mature. I did two extra days of stimming this time, so I am just praying all 9 eggs are mature. I am thanking God we didn't have to share any eggs this time around as there certainly aren't many to go around. Still trying to stay hopeful. I know it only takes one, but I was really hoping to have more to work with.

On a lighter note, once BF gave his sample this morning, he slept through the rest of the appt until the RE came in to tell us how everything went. :D All the nurses were teasing him big time. It was so funny. :jester:

They are doing ICSI on the eggs, so hopefully we will get a great fertilization report. We'll find out more tomorrow & probably also find out when the transfer will be.

I am feeling pretty sore & I'm extremely tired since I was too excited to sleep last night. Will check out some other posts, then try to get some rest. Thank you all for your prayers & continuous support. Soon it will be time to pray for my embies!! :D

Holly I am glad to hear that everything went well today and that your embies are being fertilized as we speak. I am sorry that they only ot 9 eggs this time around but hey I think you produced quality and not quantity:D. I amso glad you are not sharing your eggs and they get to choose the best ones to put back.

Holly, my friend, just sending a huge reminder that it is quality over quantity! Trust me, quantity can actually be a time-consuming enemy if the quality isn't there, and you know I speak from experience!!! I don't recall the specifics but I think Lizzie had 9 or so eggs retrieved and look at her now all knocked up:D. Seriously tho, I think all will be good but I do understand why you would be a bit disappointed after getting so many last time. With ICSI the fert report is sure to be great! Rest up now, you deserve it after E/R. You're gonna be a mommy soon!

I think 9 is great news! Did the Dr. offer any reason as to why you had so many more your last cycle? Either way, this has just been such an exceptional cycle for you, you're going to have a happy ending, I'm very confident in that :D Get your rest and keep us posted, as I already know you will.

Hi Holly, I am so glad you are home resting :) 9 eggs is plenty. Quality is much better than Quantity and with ICSI you are sure to have a great fertilization rate :) Remember I only had 5 to work with and now I am 24 weeks pregnant with 2 very active little girls. Just try and relax and think lots of snuggling embie thoughts for ET. I have such a great feeling that this is your cycle :angel:AimeeM

Kari, thanks for understanding why I felt a little disappointed. It is because we had so many more last time around. I am starting to feel better though...you girls always manage to raise my spirits!

Christin, I did ask my dr why we got so many more last time, & he didn't really have an answer. He said they were much more aggressive last time in starting me out on higher doses, but all in all, I was on more meds this time around...weird. I guess that's what he meant in saying I have polycystic ovaries...they are a bit unpredictable.

Jennifer, you made me laugh. The men really do have it easy. I didn't mind though. He did his part in giving his sample, he took me out to breakfast after the retrieval, & now he is taking good care of me while I veg out on the couch. I guess it evens out a little bit, right? ;)

Holly, it sounds like things when smoothly! Yay! I'm sorry you're feeling a bit down about only getting 9 eggs this time, but I honestly think those are going to be some high quality eggs! You're definately going to get some good fertilization reports. I'll be interested to see how it goes with ICSI and DH and I are doing the same. Can't wait to hear the results! And, I am glad you get to keep them all for your own!

Great job Holly, 9 eggs and an awesome lining. I think that indeed is better having quality over quantity, and if we do a little math, nine babies its not too bad. As long as they are not all at the same time. :D And if lets say you have 4 sets of twins and a singleton, that puts you pregnant for 45 months. That would be more than all this long months of frustration you had to go through. Well my friend, those times are now over for you, and in a few days you start working on those 45 pregnant months ahead of you. Unless you want to put back one embryo at the time..........I would have to pull out my desk calculator and .....uhhhhhh, you know what I mean. :D

I'm glad all went well. I think 9 is great! I had 10, and 4 were actually too small, but 6 fertilized and it worked for me. With ICSI you should get a great report - can't wait to hear. Good luck and fingers crossed!

Hi All!!! :) Thanks so much for the kind words! I'm overwhelmed by your constant support. You would think I'd be used to it by now, you girls have been so good to me for so long, but it still sweeps me away sometimes. I think I'm extra emotional too w/ all the hormones & stress. :D Anyway, on to the fert report!:

Of the 9 eggs we had, 6 were mature. Of the 6 mature, all 6 fertilized!! :) So, we have 6 embryos right now :D:D & my RE said they will watch them overnight & decide when the transfer will be tomorrow. We are looking at Saturday or Monday depending on how good they look tomorrow.

I'm getting excited again knowing we have 6 embies growing as I type! Still feeling sore from the retrieval & work is really stressing me out. I can't wait to get out of this place (work) for a few days next week & put it all out of my mind. Will let you all know what I find out tomorrow. Please pray for another good report! :angel:

i know i am late getting on here to post but i wanted to say congratulations on your e/r. 9 eggs is great. I only had 7 each time so i think you did fabulous. and with 6 mature and fertilized i think your chances are great that some will make it for a 5-day transfer. it only takes one! i think i had 5 fertilize, 4 made it to day 5, and then they transferred 3 and the last one didn't make it to the 6th day so it was let go. so if it could happen for me with a small amount of embryos it can sure happen for you and it will! Keep us posted. this is so exciting!

OMG!! All 6 are still growing & (to use the embyologist's words) BEAUTIFUL! :D:D:D I feel like a proud mom! LOL I am so excited I can barely stay in my skin! This is better than I had expected! So, transfer is scheduled for Monday morning at 6:00 AM - we have to be there at 5:45, so another really early morning, but who cares - my embies will be home! :)

Good luck Holly! I hope you are a mommy to be very shortly! You can bring your little one(s) down here and I will take you to the zoo. I have a membership and go there all the time but I always seem to end up leaving in tears when I am the only adult without a kid in the petting zoo making a fuss over the goats or see the little school kids there on a class trip with their little name tags pinned to them. I just keep asking when will my turn to take my kid here and other "kid" places I like to go to. Good luck to you and BF!
