I was curious about how many of you take more than 1 LA medicatoin (ex. fentanyl patch & Oxycontin). I know that many of us take more than 1 SA med. Also, if you do which meds do you mix. I was just curious in case I ever need to do this.

Hi!!
Im on the patch 12's now since the 25's were recalled, and my LA 15 mgs of hydro 4xdaily, and 8 daily 7.5 vics, IF I need them. So yes, IM on two LA meds. Things are fine. Hope you are doing well!

Izzy- Sounds as if you're on one LA (patch) and two short term (ST) breakthrough (BT) meds.......

kayci:
Only the 25mcg patches were recalled and only ones that had an expiration date of december 2009 or before. You can read about it on Duragesic's website or do an internet search. You can also do a search on this message board about it. As to the reason why is because some of the 25mcg patches were found with a tear or slice along the sides which would cause the gel inside to leak and possible result in an overdose to the user and possible even death.

Izzy:

My understanding of the hydro that you take is that it is compounded to remove the tylenol factor...that doesn't make it a LA hydro right?? I thought it was still a SA hydro just without the tylenol. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Glad you are feeling better. Hope the weather there is getting warmer.

Hi!
Yes my hydro is LA. You can get either. They can make it either LA or SA, and yes it does remove the tylenol, which bothers my stomach.
It is FINALLY warming up here. We got more snow than in the last 28 years here this winter. Im sick of it. Im off to play golf this weekend with my family for spring break. I cannot wait!
Glad you're feeling better too~

Im on the patch, compound hydro 15 mg LA, and the vic for b/t. I know its an odd combo but its working.
My script for my compound hydro always says 15mg. LA or ER. I guess I consider it two LA meds, but to each his own! xoxoxoxo,

Izzy- What's the name of your Hydro....I wasn't aware of any LA hydro based med. All the Vicoden, Loracet, and Lortab are all ST (4-6 hours).

Thanks for the clarification Izzy! Enjoy the weather and the golf with the family. :) It's trying to warm up down here too! FINALLY. My rods can't take anymore! I could never live where you do!
