Hi :) most of the ladies on the "2ww'er" thread are almost at the end of their 2ww so thought I would start a new one for anyone starting out on/approaching their 2ww... I am 1 dpo today (I think!)...
O'd on cd 17 this month (as against cd 13-15 most months!)... but this is a HSG cycle for me, so not sure if that was a factor... just very relieved to see the temp go high finally... so this should be 1dpo for me (unless temp acts funny tmw!)...

I'm 6dpo today with a natural cycle assisted with acupuncture and herbal meds for DH. (I had my IVF miracle just over 10 months ago.) Anyway, getting anxious. I'm feeling funny today (dizzy :dizzy:and soooo tired:yawn:)...and my temp is all over the place. It was very low for 2 days after O and then high for 2 days, then low again today. I'm not sure what any of that means!!!

KM, I have all but given up on temping. I was like that last week. My temp was all over the place. I have really noticed though, if you take in as soon as you wake up, your sleeping "situations" really effect it. I had flannel PJ's and flannel sheets with lots of blankets, it was really high, then when I had regular sheets and lighter PJ's, it was lower. That is just a theroy but it is worth expirmenting with. Good luck.

Hi Hazel and all,
I had egg retrieval today (21) and I am in a little pain and swollen. ET will be set for Friday or Sunday. This is the easy part by the end of next week I will be anxious and very emotional. I always start off happy and positive and then I go crazy! I'm glad you started this. How are you feeling?

:) so happy to have the company to share this 2ww!! :D
Staci - wow, 21 eggs is great!! :) ... I know what you mean - I also start off feeling like this will be it and feeling all warm and happy and then I get stressed out in the second week...!
Km - dizzy and tired at around 6dpo sound like great symptoms! ;) I temp regularly and usually have pretty stable temps which means they routinely start their "descent" around dpo 9 and then I always end up with af... so I actually enjoy the stress-free first week where I can usually see my temps quite high...
Holly - will be thinking of you during your E/R!!! praying that you get a good bunch of great embies... pls let us know how thing went... so happy to share this wait with you :) I have a feeling this will be it for you :)
Jenn -- I know what you mean about sleeping conditions - it does seem to affect the temps ... tricky one that!!
Ruby - thanks for your thoughts and wishes :) sending you hugs (((hugs)))

Yeah...but I'm thinking it's too early for these symptoms. But it also seems too early for them to be indicating AF. I just don't know!! I was blow drying my hair this morning and my boobs starting hurting. I REALLY hope these aren't pseudo pregnancy symptoms when nothing is really there. I've been there, done that and I just don't know how to feel. I try not to think about it but then a symptom will pop up that I question and I wonder if it's all in my mind, even subconsciously. My first pregnancy (before my bfp) I felt a little dizzy at times early on and also had stretching cramping pains which I wonder if I'd feel again the 2nd time around.
Staci, way to go with 21 eggs!! I never got that amount! That's awesome! I hope you have a lot to work with to put in and freeze.
Good luck to all 2wwers...Baby dust all around!!;)

Hi all! I am finishing my 2ww tomarrow. I had my egg retrieval on 2/21, got 31 eggs, by day 3 we had 21 embryos, we transferred 2 blasts on 2/26, and froze 7 more the following day. This has been some rollercoaster ride! I know you all know what I mean. I have very sore boobs, dizziness, and I love to sleep right now. I usually need 5 hours and I'm good to go. I don't know what to expect from my beta results tomarrow. Please send baby dust my way. Thanks to you all!

Staci - sorry to hear about the mild OHSS... sounds uncomfortable... I've never been through it but I have also heard about the gatorade helping... your E/T should be close now (Fri/Sat right?)... will be thinking of you. Hope all goes smoothly and swiftly...
Km -- how's your temp behaving? :) any signs of the stretching cramps you felt with your previous pregnancy?
... I am 4dpo today and while my temp shift is very clear, my post-O temps are just about hovering above my cover line... not very encouraging I am afraid... other than that I've no symptoms except very very af-like feeling in abdomen on 2-3 dpo... felt exactly like af was going to start any minute... thats gone now... given my HSG this cycle, I guess there could be a couple strange symptoms due to that...
Holly - thinking of you and your 6 beautiful embies :)

Well Hazel, my temp is up one day and down the next and then up, and then down. But I noticed this morning that on the days it has been down, I've woken up cold, and noticed on my thermostat that the temp in the room was down as well. Today, it was back up and the temp in the room was higher. Maybe the low temps are due to a weird scheduling from my thermostat...it hasn't been working too well. I'm going to have to have my hubby check it out today when he gets home.
And the answer to your question is YES!:D I have been feeling those stretching pains today. It's a weird feeling like soreness almost and usually in the inner hip area...I think referred to as round ligament pain?!? I thought since I "stretched" already the first time around, that I wouldn't "stretch" again. I remember the first time, I told my acupuncturist about that cramping the day before my blood test and she said it was my body getting ready for pregnancy and that I'd get good news. Of course, she was right! I'm not sure what to think...but I am thinking more and more that I could actually be pregnant, naturally. And that is a true miracle!!

Can I join you all in the 2ww. I'm going insane !
I had ET on 3rd march and had quite a bit of cramping afterwards but its settled down now. The first few days I felt great, really happy, energetic, healthy and positive but yesterday ( 4 days past ET ) I started getting really weepy, down and feeling negative. My boobs are still the same and I'm quite bloated. Really not very hopefull at all.
I dont test until the 20th ! 16 days after ET which is really long compared to everyone else
Sending you all lots of sticky baby dust.

03-08-2008, 09:46 AM
Aintgotaclue, welcome to the 2ww! I'm wondering why your RE is making you wait until the 20th.
After my 2nd ET which was 5 days past ER, I only had to wait 9 days. And my first ET was 3 days past ER and I had to wait 11 days....figuring 14 days from ER each time. I would guess that you could probably do an hpt before the 20th! That seems like an awful long time to wait!!
Since I'm guessing you're on progesterone, any signs of pregnancy could be due to that...so I wouldn't read into it so much. You can't lose hope until you know for sure!
Good luck!

hi KM,
don't know why I need to wait that long. Its just the way my hospital do it. They said 16 days after ET ! I nearly died there and then when she said 16 days ! I will probably be doing a HPT on my own before then. ;)
Yes I'm on progesterone. Started it on the 28th Feb after ER so your probably right about the symptoms. They were far to early to be PG signs.
Feeling a bit better today so I think the mood swings etc have been PMT. On a natural cycle I nomally get them a few days after O and they only last a few days but never immmediatly before AF.

aingotaclue - welcome :) the more of us to share our nerve-wracking wait the better!!!! ... hmmm, 16 days seems like a long time to wait after ET -- some hpts look to be in order long before that! ;) maybe your clinic believes in only testing when there is very very very good reason to test? - 'cos I've seen some websites recommending that one tests only when af is 1-2 weeks delayed... we all know how that one goes with us ;)
KM -- so exciting to hear about your stretching pains!!!!!!!!! :) praying that it is your BFP about to show up  keep me posted with your thermostat experiments - I would be interested to know how your temps go in the days to come...
Holly, Staci -- hope you're hanging in there... thinking of you...
my temps have been bit strange too -- dpo 1-5 temps were just hovering above coverline and then the last 2 days (dpo 6-7) temps are much higher -- don't know what's going on... anything strange this cycle I'm attributing to my HSG....
I have my RE appt this coming Sat... we will discuss my HSG results (I only so far have the "all's looking good" from the tech who did the x-ray) and DH's SA results (he goes for his second SA tomorrow)...

Hazel,
Today is 12dpo and my temp has stayed high!!:D Last cycle at this time, it was already steadily decreasing for AF to be showing up so I just hope that's another good sign. Also, my boobs are not only tingling on occasion but seem to be so much bigger! Even my husband noticed when I asked him! But men always do seem to be misguided in that department!;)
As for your temps going up...I think that's a VERY good sign. I read that if it makes another shift up, it could be attributed to implantation!! And that seems right around the right time for you at 6-7 dpo. Praying that you're also close to a BFP!!

Hi all,
I am so glad that this new 2ww thread was started. I am 4dpo. I currently just finished my 3rd cycle of Clomid which was upped to 100 mg cd 3-7 and I certainly was not a happy camper this time. I had diarrhea and horrible migraines. Had been ttc for over 3 yrs. AF is due around 3/20(I hope she doesn't show up).Has anyone felt any symptoms around 3-4 dpo or is it just too soon? I was a bit nauseous this afternoon. Also, having weird bloated, sore feeling in my lower abdomen. Maybe it's just wishful thinking. I just so don't want to be disappointed this month again!!!:(
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Audrey - welcome :) ... hope all your symptoms are just that BFP waiting to show up next week!!! keep us posted on your symptoms!!!!
As for me, 9dpo and nothing extra-ordinary to report... the second temp shift that I saw starting 6dpo is still valid!!!... just that in absolute terms my temps are still where they usually are on 9-12dpo -- the ONLY diff this time is the pattern... where previously temp graph in the 2ww used to look like a sharp-top mountain, this time it is like 2 big steps  so not sure whether to read anything into it or not... the KEY will be whether temp falls aroudn 12-13dpo... this has ALWAYS happened... so any old pattern at this point seems too premature to read... we shall see...
The GOOD thing is I have my 2nd consult with RE this Sat (12dpo)... it will be a day or two too early for af... so my question is - DO YOU THINK I SHOULD TEST ON THAT MORNING?
If I test and it is BFN (most likely scenario) I will not have the "hope" that I always have till af shows :D but at least we can discuss concrete plans with RE instead of "iffy" plans...on that other hand I would LOVE to hang on to the hope esp. if temp stays high that morning... would love your thoughts!

Hazel, the question of whether or not to hpt is tough. I would say go for it, if a bfn wouldn't bring you down, considering it could very easily be too early. But I know how easy it is to let bfns bring us down even if we know there is still a chance. Whatever you do, I'm praying this is your month. Good luck at your appt & keep letting us know how you're doing.
As for me, no signs really, but I am only 3 days past the transfer. My boobs are incredibly sore, but they were sore even before the transfer (due to the progesterone), so I can't count that. Unless I start getting m/s super early, I don't think I'm going to look into any signs before beta. They are just too confusing. Sure hope this is it though!!
Good luck to the rest of our 2ww'ers. Hope we can storm the board w/ bfps!!!

I would say don't do the hpt if you can hold out...b/c the blood will be the definite answer regardless. But, if you can't hold out, do it but don't look too much into it! For my first IVF, I did POAS the day before my test and got a BFN which helped me to prepare for my negative blood test the next day. The frozen and fresh cycle to follow, I waited it out but was soooo nervous both times...I think doing an hpt may have calmed me but they would have both come out negative which would have just left me with doubts...the frozen was only very, very low positive which turned negative the next BETA and the fresh cycle was indeed positive, but also low that would have NEVER showed up on an hpt. 4 BETAs later, I was finally in the clear and feeling confident that my numbers more than doubled.
Now, with my 10 1/2 month old angel sleeping in the next room, I'm contemplating whether my hpt this morning was too early with my natural cycle!! I figured out that I goofed with my temps and thought today was 14dpo but it's actually only 13 days...so it very well could be too early.:p Also, I told my acupuncturist tonight about my symptoms and how I wasn't sure if they were either pregnancy or PMS and she assured me that they weren't PMS (with exception to the cramping). She didn't come right out and say it, but she said I had a good sign. All of that made me feel better!:D So, I'll wait until Saturday, and test again.
Hazel 74
03-12-2008, 10:25 PM
Hey Char, Kelley, Holly and Km -- thanks for your wishes and thoughts re. whether to hpt / not hpt...
... I have decided to wait it out :D
Holly - you're right, BFNs do bring us down no matter that we know it could be too early... it is just depressing...
Km -- you absolutely right that Hpt'ing before is a good way to prepare for a BFN from beta... but you're right as well that it could just unnecessary heartache...
... so I've decided to hold out and dream on :D at least I will not ruin my weekend agonizing over a hpt.
Ok, now I have a rather silly question (forgive my ignorance pls!!!) - for a beta, do you request for one or does an RE automatically do one if you're around the end of your 2ww? This is only my 2nd RE consult and the first one was around O so there was no b/w for anything... should I wait for him to suggest one or can I just ask for one?... any advice would be appreciated!!!
KM -- LOVELY to hear what your acupuncturist said!!!! -- that is a very good sign... I believe strongly in intuition... and since you miscalculated your dpo days, even more reason for your HPT to be too early... esp. since the last time you got a positive beta it did not show up... hang in there  praying that you get 2 dark lines on Saturday!!
Holly -- hoping that you get m/s really early... it will be crappy to feel sick, BUT it will mean a BFP, right? :) take care of yourself in this 2ww... when is your beta? How is BF taking the 2ww? :D

Thanx to everyone for their good luck.
I'm still hanging on but this waiting is torchure. Still not feeling particularly positive I'm afraid. Thought AF was going to arrive yesterday but no show yet. I've started feeling quite unwell, burning up as though I'm running a fever and have been getting a really sore head and a little nausea. My boobs are really sore but a different sore from before and I had a lot of cramping yesterday.
Hi Hazel, I'm not sure about the testing early ...... I'm scared lol. Last week really dragged in but this week has been much better. I've only got another 7 days to go till official test date. I'm 13 DPO and normally I get AF 12 DPO so I'm starting to get a bit nervous / excited.
Best of luck and lots of sticky babydust to everyone waiting. Hang on in there. Who will be testing first ? .... It can't be long now as I think I'm the last to test.

Hazel, my RE automatically sends his patients for beta 2 weeks after O w/ all IUI or IVF cycles. If your dr hasn't mentioned it to you, then he might not be planning on sending you. There is no harm in asking though...I like Charlene's idea of asking at your appt on Saturday. I am sure he wouldn't mind sending you.
Good luck!!!
Oh yeah, to answer your question, my beta is scheduled for Wednesday. I am SO NERVOUS!!!! BF did the cutest thing today...it is my first day back to work since the transfer (did 3 days of bed rest), and he called me to make sure that I am not stressing out or working too hard. He reminded me there might be a baby or two in there who need a calm environment. How sweet! :D I am doing pretty good at staying relaxed at work, which for me is a HUGE feat! Hi Girls,
It is good to see how everyone is doing. It is important to know that others share you feelings during this exciting but extremely emotional time.
I had my 5 day embryo transfer on Sunday ...they had to drain me before due to OHSS and would only put one embryo in me. (I am feeling much better now).
No pg systems yet and like Holly I don't anticipate anything b/c of all the meds.
I understand whether to or not to test early? In the past I have not but I think I am this time.
How many days are you waiting post egg transfer to test?

Hi all my fellow 2ww'ers. I have to say this is not very much fun. I really enjoy reading everyone's posts. It helps me to realize I'm not crazy.:jester:
So far things have been pretty uneventful for me. The beginning of the week flew by but now time seems to stand still. And every time I try to come up with a project to occupy my time I am afraid it is too strenuous.
My blood test isn't until Thurs. 3-20. They said I could take HPT that morning if I want to. I have been debating on doing a HPT earlier or not. I live too far from my RE, so I am just going to my regular gyn office. I have a silly question: Is my blood test considered a "beta" or not since it is not at the RE's? I think my RE nurse did say they would have done a different test, but I'm not sure at this point I could be crazy.
Best of luck to everyone! ***********BABYDUST************

Staci, my beta is scheduled 9 days after a 5 day transfer (so, it is 14 days after retrieval). Sending you lots of good luck wishes for Thursday...less than a week to go!!!
TNT, I'm pretty sure the blood test to check for HCG levels (pg) is considered a beta no matter who orders it. Usually, RE's will check your progesterone levels as well...maybe that is what your nurse was talking about? I bet you can ask your OB to check your prog level as well...it's still only 1 needle & 1 vial. Good luck to you!
Aintgotaclue, I'm so sorry that AF showed up! Hoping your next cycle is the one!
KM, I think as long as your temps are still high & AF hasn't shown, you're definitely still in the game. Maybe you just implanted late or the levels are taking a while to build up. Maybe the hpts were duds. Keeping my fingers crossed that you will get bfp the next time you test.
As for me, I'm still cramping here & there. Nothing new to report. Just trying to stay sane until Wednesday gets here. Glad I'm not alone in my wait!

Thx KM7503 and tryN2BMommy. ;) Deffo not my month. It was a perfect cycle too, had a lining over 10mm and an 8 and 6 cell egg transfered, it just never immplanted. Unfortunately I had no eggs for freezing as they only made it to 3 and 4 cells so I'll need to do the whole IVF again. Going to take a few months off at least and get strong healthy and have a bit of fun but I'll deffinatly be having another try. ;)
Hang in there KM, 15 dpo is good going, , you are nearly there.
Oh Wednesday is not far now tryN2BMommy, best of luck to you both, stay strong, It would be really nice to see you both post BFP. ;)

Aintgotaclue, I did IVF twice (3 times if you count the frozen transfer in between) but I know how disappointing that first BFN was and how much more I felt I had to go through to do it again...but I did try acupuncture that last time, and I really think that's what helped me. If you're going to wait a while, try it before you start your cycle. The more time you give your body "proper chi" the more ready it will be. I hope you get a BFP next time around.
As far me, it's cd30, 16dpo, and I didn't test again today because I never ran out to get another hpt!! I have no signs of immediate AF except for some cramping and sore boobs....but I've been having that for a week and a half. My temp is still high, actually over the last 3 days it's higher than it's been. I guess that's still a good sign...I just don't know when to test again and how long to wait for a blood test!

So, I woke up extra early today and maybe because of that reason, my temp was lower, much lower. Maybe it's also because of my heat not creeping up yet! I'm not sure, but AF is officially late and I'm not feeling as confident today b/c of that temp...I got up to use the bathroom and have some major nausia now though and cramping. Maybe she will show her ugly head today, maybe not. It's cd31, 17dpo. 2 BFNs (on 13dpo & 15dpo) has really screwed with me. Having infertility (although successful) has screwed with me! I just wish I knew SOMETHING concrete either way. Is it just too early still?
Is anyone out there? How are the rest of you? Baby dust all around....

Waking up and temping earlier than normal will cause it to be low. I have all but given up on temping because it was just making me crazy! Good luck

My 5 day blast was last Sunday and have not been checking my temp until today so it is probably too late to notice anything. The last 2 days have been hard. The fear and depression has replaced the excitement. No signs of pg and wanting to test so bad. I hope everyone is doing well. I know this is a big week for many of us. You all will be in my prayers.

Aintgotaclue, I'm glad to hear you will try again. I'm sure a few months break will do you good & I pray it is all you need to get your bfp your very next cycle.
KM, I think 17 dpo & no AF is a VERY good sign. I'm willing to bet your temp was lower this morning because you took it earlier. I really hope you get a bfp the next time you test. Good luck!!
Staci, my 5 day blast was last Monday, so it looks like I'm a day behind you. I hear you about the feelings of fear replacing the feelings of excitement. I am SO NERVOUS for Wednesday to get here. I just don't feel anything...I know it is really early & many women don't feel anything this early, but I would still feel much better if there were some undeniable sign. I have been cramping on & off for days now & my cramps today seem to feel more like AF cramps than anything else. I just don't know what to think & wish I had an answer already. Do you test on Tuesday? Good luck to us both!!

Good luck Holly & Staci! Tuesday & Wednesday will be here sooner than you think!;)
I'm going to take another hpt tomorrow and we'll see. If it's another BFN, then I'll just assume my body's playing tricks on me!

Hello to all my fellow-2ww'ers :) I know how hard this is - but pls hang in there
Aintgotaclue - I'm sorry that AF showed  taking a bit of a break sounds good and I am so happy that you will be trying again soon... take good care of yourself
Staci -- I understand how fear and depression can so easily replace excitement... I went through that myself a couple days ago... will be thinking of you as you go through each day ahead of your beta... pls hang on and focus on your upcoming BFP
KM -- I can't believe how cruel nature can be... to make you go through so many good signs without it registering on the hpt... 17dpo and high temps are very good signs... so pls hang in there... will be eagerly looking out for your hpt result... praying hard that it is a strong BFP this time.
Holly -- dearest, pls hold on... just a few more days to go... GOOD LUCK for your beta and really praying hard for a BFP for you... are you planning on hpt'ing the day before?... will be thinking of you...
For myself -- as I posted on my other thread (re. my RE consult) things do not look very hopeful at all for a natural conception... so I'm well prepared for this cycle to be a BUST!!!... temp this morning (14dpo) sort of plummeted, so I think AF should be making an appearance in the next day or so...
PRAYING FOR BFPs FOR YOU ALL!

Hey girls! Just wanted to stop in and wish each of you best of luck in the final few days of your 2WW's! All of your BFP's are long over-due and I look forward to celebrating the sweet news of your coming miralces! Babydust to all!!!!

So, I wake up and take my temp...and I'm thinking it'll be lower b/c I feel cold and then I look and surprisingly, it's higher than it's been my ENTIRE cycle @ 98.26!!! So, I'm thinking, okay, that's good, so then I POAS. And....BFN!!!!!!:mad::mad:
I just don't get it! If I'm pregnant, why won't it show up on the hpt? Isn't it late enough at cd32 and 18dpo? And if I'm not pregnant, where is my period? Why is my temp so high? (I'm feeling okay!) And, why do I have all these other symptoms??
I thought, I would feel like okay, if it's BFN, no more torture, I'll just wait for AF and start again next month....but something is nagging at me to get a blood test. Maybe it's intuition, maybe it's just anxious psychosis...either way I'm calling my doctor!:p

You aren't on progesterone are you? That will raise your temp and cause AF to stay away. I would rush right the the doctors and get a beta since you are way past O. Good luck

No, that's the most frustrating part:o...I'm not on any hormonal meds...no progesterone, no nothing...these are real symptoms not caused by any outside aid. This is a natural cycle with the help of herbal meds for DH only and both of us are doing acupuncture! This is the 1st month that we are trying for baby #2...I just don't know what to do!!:(

Have you called the dr? What do they say? I would demand a Beta. Tell them you have the BFN HPT's but no sign of AF. 18dpo is pretty late to not know anything.

I'm going to get a blood test today after work. I called and asked the secretary at my OBGYN if it's even possible to have a negative hpt and positive blood test and she said it is possible! She said usually women go between 3-5 days after missed period. I guess this will tell me either way...I don't know how long I'll have to wait for the results. I'll keep you all posted. I've cried twice today already...I'm so emotional!:(

Hazel, I'm still torn on whether or not to hpt before beta. Time will tell, I guess. Only 2 more days to go...
KM, good luck w/ your beta today!!!! Hoping you get very good news!!! The signs are certainly there.

Km I hope you will be posting a BFP today. All the signs are there.
Holly only one more day till beta and your BFP:D.
Hazel I am glad that you are prepared for this cycle if it does not work.....but you just never know:).
If there is anyone else in the 2ww that I have forgotten about I am sorry.
GOOD LUCK to all of you.
Thinking of you

So, sadly I started spotting this morning...I didn't get my result yet, but it'll probably be a BFN. I'm now thoroughly convinced that I may have actually fertilized a little bean (on my own this time!;)) and maybe he/she just couldn't hold on or attach itself. If my beta does come back positive, but low, it doesn't look good. So, we try again.
I hope the rest of you get your BFPs this week!!! Sticky Baby dust all around!!:D

Km, I'm so sorry. I really thought all the signs were there. If it is just spotting, there is still hope. If not, you are getting so close. I just know you will get your BFP next cycle. Try to think positive (I know it is tough in these situations). Just remember we are all here for you and most of us have had this similar situation. You are definitely not alone. I'm thinking of you.

KM, I'm sorry that this wasn't your month. It really did seem like all the signs were there. I'm sure that makes the bfn that much harder. You are taking it like a real trooper though & your persistance is certainly going to pay off. Sending you hugs & prayers that the next cycle will be it.

Hi,
Just thought I would check in today. I am currently 12 dpo. I did test on 10 and 11 dpo and got a BFN. Waiting until tomorrow to test again. I am praying, wishing, and hoping for my very first BFP. I am so scared to be disappointed, but I will try to keep a positive outlook. Also, feeling like
AF is coming and I am totally breaking out!!! I never breakout. Never. I am on Prometrium. I wonder if that is the cause. Any input would be useful.
Still praying for everyone else.
