Has anyone experienced a great deal of gas after quitting? I've tried
to quit several times but have found a great deal of stomach discomfort/gas
each time I quit. So bad that I started again! Is it just me? What can be done to relieve this gas?

Nan,

I had this happen several times when trying to quit. I have found that cutting down first, helped. I had one good quit, that I should have stayed with, with no gas and that was because I cut down for a couple of weeks before quitting. This time, I also was able to quit without the gas. Sure, I have a little intestinal discomfort that I'm sure a cigarette would help with, but I am letting things take their natural course.

From what I understand, nicotine can act as a stimulant that may stimulate the intestinal flow. Maybe our intestines tend to get used to it as being a laxative. Don't know, but it will go away. Eat healthy and drink plenty of fluids.

Take care.

Gee, I thought it was just me. I never associated it with quitting smoking. How interesting...
