JinL mentioned a 3 times a week shot of HCG usually costs around $50.00 per month. I Have Kleinfelter's Syndrome, my doctor prescribed a daily shot of HCG to help sperm production, though told me it's about $1000.00 per month for the treatment with out insurance. And so far I haven't found an insurance company that covers anything with infertility. What could cause the huge cost difference?

I am wondering if the discrepancy lies with the dosage?? Usually if it is prescribed for the female, we would generally only take the HCG injection once per cycle. there are a few ladies here that have taken it a couple times a cycle depending on their issues. So, I am wondering since you are taking it 3 times a week, (not sure how many weeks) that may be why it costs more. Also, depending on what pharmacy you use. You may want to call around to find out prices, unfortunately, insurance companies will not pay for anything IF related, which really stinks. Therefore, the out of pocket charges can vary greatly from pharmacy to pharmacy.
