I am new to board. I do not have diabetes but suffer from episodes of neuropathy and fibromyalgia. I have definitely detected a connection between sugar and neuropathy. I just googled "neuropathy and sugar" which led me to this site. I try to avoid sugar but got some ginger cookies at the health food store yesterday and am paying the price. My neuropathy was diagnosed by a neurologist as mild; but, the pain is intense today from my hips to my toes.
Usually as long as I don't do sugar, the pain is manageable by taking Malic Acid with Magnesium and Inflamactin help. I also take one Soma every night
My neuropathy developed suddenly. I am wondering if there is any connection between neuropathy and taking the Shingles Shot a year ago. Also, I have some disc problems in my back. hen not in acute pain, I am an active 69-year-old and try not to give mild pain too much power.
