Ok, I was going to get on this rant last night, but chose to sleep on it first to calm down. This morning I got an email and phone call about 2 MORE stories about drs. prescribing meds that have great potential to cause life threatening side effects and not discussing it with patients or two/three different drs. treating one person prescribing meds that are not to be taken at the same time.

So, if I take the 2 or 3 I have read on this board and the now 4 stories I have heard in my personal life and my own experience I feel compelled to beg you all to PLEASE DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK BEFORE BLINDLY ALLOWING YOUR DRS. TO TAKE OVER YOUR LIFE!

I probably don't need to say this as you are all intelligent people but I fear we all get so scared of what is going on with us that we are sometimes willing to take whatever they tell us will help. Unfortunately, most drs. don't know all of the details about all of the meds out there. There are so many and they don't have time to research every single one. Many of them have "fine print" that we don't read.

I am not saying that we should not take medicine...I am just asking you all to please be very careful. Sometimes the medicine is worse than the condition. Ask tons of questions, look it all up...before you start taking it.

Thanks for listening.

Funny you should put this on here as I was just sitting and thinking about calling my doctor and asking how to wean myself from the Neurontin I've been on for six months. They have upped my dosage more everytime I complain about my symptoms getting worse. The only reason I started with it was because I could not sleep, due to my hands, feet, arms, legs falling asleep and waking me up. Now, I feel like my body is slowly shutting down, however I have been sleeping great. My argument is going to be, quit masking my symptoms and figure out what it is. If they go away without the Neurontin, then maybe that is what's causing the problem. Either way, I'm tired of sitting back and letting things get worse.

I guess maybe I should have slept on it before ranting. Thanks for starting what I needed to get out. ;)
