Hi.....I am new to HealthBoards. I had surgery two months ago to have a plica removed from my right knee. During the surgery my Dr. found that I have severe arthritis behind the kneecap and no cartilage either. I am 27 and they say that my knee is the worst they have ever seen in the 30 years they have been practicing for someone my age. (Not a goal I was trying to achieve....). Anyway, I am not in PT three times per week and have been doing so for seven weeks. I was told I will be in PT at least through May......they did scape the kneecap to make it bleed to generate some kind of new cartilage. I am still unable to do a straight leg raise, to the point where I can not even get my ankle off the table. Has anyone else been through this or can you tell me what kind of recovery I am looking at? Thanks so much! :)
