View Full Version : Do I have anxiety?

I feel so ___

I'm having trouble understanding stress, anxiety, and depression. =\

I went to my doctors the other day, and I have been going to him for over a year because of weird problems. I got tests on everything and nothing has come up, and after a few things I've said he's thinking I have anxiety and stress.

Here are the symptoms..

-Alopecia areata (hair loss in patches)
- Migraines
- Daily dizziness / static vision
- Long term stomach pains
- Loss of menstruation

...He says he doesn't want to jump to conclusions though and wants me to come back in a month so we can talk more.

He says I should consider going to see a counselor for stress management and help with possible anxiety.. but I'm not at an age where I can do that easily by myself.. and my parents are very .. not understanding. Their reply was '...so calm down'. :P

But I've had migraines and etc for over 2 years and half the time I don't even know if I'm feeling anxious or not so I just don't get how you know how you're feeling.

All those things would really only be caused by anxiety? Nothing physically wrong?

*Edit, I'm sorry if this should've been posted in the Stress form instead...

Hey, anxiety is a very real thing, and growing up is anxiety all by itself. Don't be hard on yourself and don't get down on yourself. Also, keep communication lines open with people, whoever you trust. If you like, I find journaling helps, or for me, I like writing poetry or stories about what I am feeling at the time. It is a nice safe place to put what I am feeling. Sending a hug your way and I know you will overcome this.

Thank you for your reply. I keep a dream journal and a creative writing booklet so perhaps I will start a general journal as well. I just find that a lot of times I can't describe how I'm feeling so well.

That is normal. For me, that is why I write poetry. I can write in abstract, and it is safe and the feelings are there none the less. Good for you for writing though. It helps so much when words fail you. Be strong. It will be ok

anxiety and stress can cause tons of health problems and symptoms. ive been to doctors for lightheadedness, stomach problems, tmj syndrome, and more.after many tests all were stress and anxiety related.
