I am now at the end of my rope, praying someone on this site can help me!
Since maybe around 4th or 5th grade i have had small red bumps all over my legs and on the backs of my arms, except on the bottom half of my leg where they're just red spots, not bumps. They arent painful, and they only seem to get irritated when i shave or put on lotion which makes them brighter red. When i told my mom back when i was little she told me she thought it was just because i needed to moisturize or that a reaction to my shaving cream. I was so embarrased about them that i never wore shorts until my senior year of highschool, at best i wore capri's.even now being a freshman in college i still cant barely bring myself to wear shorts in public and with summer coming up i cant stand wearing jeans for another 4 months of a minnesota season! :(
when i was a jonior in highschool i asked my mother to bring me to a doctor and without even looking at my arms or legs he perscribed me Amlactin 12% mousturizing lotion. A friend i had said the lotion had once worked for her but i gave up on it after a few weeks of no results. the bottle even says for rough dry skin, but my skin isnt dry at all, and its not rough its bumpy!
i still have half a bottle i've been trying to use again for the last week but it only seems to make me itchy and makes my skin appear irritated and dark red.
im begging anyone who knows whats wrong with me to reply! im so embarrased by it i end up being miserable all summer when outside and none of my friends understand. guys look at me like i have some wierd catchable rash. please help me anyone!
my parents say they cant afford bringing me to another doctor but i cant take this ugly blemish anymore!!!

It sounds like you might have keratosis pilaris. Get to a dermatologist get your skin looked at and to get a diagnosis. In the meantime, if this is what you have try Eucerin Dry Skin Therapy Plus Intensive Repair Creme or Dermadoctor KP Duty Dermatologist Moisturizing Therapy for Dry Skin. Good luck. :)
