I have a question do Anxiety and depression sometimes occuer together? My husband suffers from Anxiety something awful but I think he may be depressed to. We will get out somewhere shopping and he is almost ready to go the minute we get inside. he gets dizzy and his heart beats fast i am really worried for him. He has a high stress job in law enforcement and a few years back he had someone attack him and to be honest he has not been right since. He has been on numerous meds for Anxiety but none of them so far have helped. He is going back to the doctor later this month about it. I am worried about the depression because all he wants to do is stay at home and play on the computer. He stays up later and later and then sleeps all day. This is on his days off. The kids wonder why daddy doesn't play with them as much and I am thinking when am I going to get my husband back. Please don't think I am being slefish I really do love and care for him I just really don't know how to deal with all of this on top of having a son with special needs I just don't know where to turn. I am hoping that someone on here can give me some advice. ANything would be great thanks again.

Sounds just like me!
I suffer from both.
Has your husband tried Effexor XR? It has helped me a bunch!

i suffer from both too along with ocd and panic attacks. i have been told by psychiatrist that they can be a viscious cycle. like you can have anxiety which causes depression which or depression which causes anxiety and then it just goes in circles. dealing with anxiety is one of the hardest things out there and it makes alot of people depressed because you can feel absolute helpless sometimes. talking with dr again is good idea and myabe they can find some other medicine that he has not tried before that might work.
