Ok heres my new update. I Went to get an ultrasound, and the technition told me that i have 18 cysts in my right ovary, But when I had my ultrasound back in november i was told that i had 5-10 in that ovary. Are these cysts supposed to multiply as fast as they have been and could that have been the reason to all my pains?

Hi Courtney: Have you talked to your doc or just the tech? It is possible for PCOS cysts to shrink and grow on their own. I've had that happen several times. And the nature of the disease is multiple cysts.
If you don't have a follow-up appt. with your doc, I would make one. He/she is the one who can tell you for sure.
And yes, cysts can definitely cause pain. Mine is usually in my lower back, with some pulling or tugging in my abdomen, near where the ovaries are.
Don't get scared, smaller cysts don't usually rupture. It's generally when one gets to be 6 cm or larger that they start watching for that.
Let me know what the doc says & stay calm. I'm an old-timer when it comes to PCOS. Take care, cmpgirl
