How long should one wait before drinking alcohol after taking a dose of lorezapam? For example, if I happen to take one dose in the morning, would I be okay to drink later that night?
Thanks.

Im not a doctor but i know of a few occasions i have drank after taking my loranzapan i did drink. Once i had taken it in the morning and drank later that nite. A few nites ago i took it about 6pm and drank about 9pm. I do not drink that much, maybe 2-3 drinks. It did not seem to mix bad with the medication but i do know that my anxiety is worse for a few days after drinking, that is why i do not do it alot. I have been on loranzapan for about 2 years and i think i have drank 2-3 times during that time.

Hi: I don't usually post on this board, but I do have anxiety, so I check it out from time to time. What I can tell you re: alchohol consumption and a lot of medications, is that the "Alchohol warnings" aren't just about intensifying the "buzz". What they don't explain on the bottle, they explain in the printout you usually get w/your script.
When there's an alch warning it's really because the combo of the two can render your meds ineffective. It can literally make your meds not work. (probably why you felt more anxious the day after, confused32)
I'm not a doctor either, but I stopped drinking years ago, not because I had an addiction or anything. I just had to make the choice between drinking and having my meds actually due their job. It's totally up to you to choose whichever you feel comfortable with.
I hope this helps a little!
