That sounds like a nerve problem. Your mom should definitely get it checked out as soon as possible. Does she have diabetes? Could be diabetic neuropathy. Or, could be a sign of back problems.

Hi
I agree that it very likely is nerve related. My husband has back problems which cause those same feelings as well as others in his feet and legs. He had to have spinal surgery on his lower back recently which relieved a lot of his pain and nerve issues. He still has some nerve issues in his feet which are likely related to issues in his neck (possibly another future surgery). Depending on the cause and severity of the problem, there are numerous alternatives.
Diabetes can definitely cause these same problems, as can nerve impingement etc. She should definitely be checked out first for diabetes. I hope for the best for her.
Blessings
Rita

I agree it could be back or neurothopy. Neurontin is a great drug for helping with the feet, you can take up to 1500mg per day but gradually work your way up and you may not need that much. THere are some side affects so you have to give it time to get past them. I would definitely check w/ the Dr. and ask about the neurontin,
