My Father is 63 he suffered a heart attack at 43 due to meds for travelling .

Recently he has been getting chest pain on excercise, he finds if he has to walk fast anywhere the pain starts.

He went to the Doctors and the Doc did an ECG and saw that he had an abnormal heartbeat. They have given him beta blockers and they seem to have helped a bit. This week he went to the hospital to go on a running machine for a heart stress test. When he was about to get on th eDoc stopped it as he wasnt happy with his heart beat.

Now they are saying they want him to have a heart scan and then depending on those results, they want him to have the dye put through his vein in a leg. What is this test for? abnd how is it carried out?

Im worried as he is going long haul on holiday in June. He has been having this problem for about 18months now, but just thought he would go to the Docs now !!!

Any help would be appreciated.
