I am in a bit of a panic. About a year ago, I was found to have slightly elevated liver panel levels. My doctor ordered a CT and sent me to a specialist because of a 3mm mass on the CT. The specialist said it was fatty liver and was nothing to worry about as I was not overweight or had a high fat diet "just the way your are" were his exact words.
I was at the doctor two weeks ago for bronchitis. She re-ran my liver panel and it is even higher than last time (I don't know the exact numbers). She sent me for another CT. She called yesterday referring me back to the specialist. She said there were more spots, but only in one area of the liver and she had no idea what it could be. "Is she just trying not to scare me??" is the only think I could think of. I am in a bit of a panic because I have to wait 3 weeks to get into the specialist. I have no other symptoms. Has anyone had similar
I am only 28, do not drink or smoke, exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet. There is no history at all of cancer (thank goodness) in my family, but of course that is what you first think of. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't live for 3 weeks thinking about nothing but this.

I don't know about the spots...sounds suspicious- but I was supose to get a test to confirm my hep c I'd initially got a positve result through the health dept. Well I was getting chelation therapy with my husband and the guy doing this used to be a reg doctor...I told him about it and he didn't get a test to confirm I had hep, it was something to check the liver enzymes? Well, low and behold, I kept a record on a monthly calander and I had just gotten a terrible cold and sore throat. My regular doctor told me the liver engymes were probably high due to it having to fight something off? I did finally get tested again specifically for the hep and it was confirmed of course. I mention that because of your bout with bronchitis. I landed in the hospital and a scan ultrasound revealed I have a two 7 cc masses (one of which is a granuloma) and another 4x5 mass in the liver. I have upper right side pain too. Hmm? Don't let them cut into you real fast. Do your home work. I'd like to hear from you with your results...

Thanks for the suggestion. I was on birth control for about 8 years, but have been off it for about 2. I know my hormones have not gone back to normal because we have been trying to get pregnant. The doc told me that sometime your natural hormones do not reengage after being on the pill for so long--so that may be a factor. We won't be trying again until after I see the specialist. Unfortunately I can't get in earlier unless there someone cancels.
I doubt it is hepatitis. I had the vaccine several years ago, and have not been in a situation where I could have contracted it. I also have no other symptoms.
I am feeling a little better, now that I have some actual conditions that it might be. I have been researching--and it is making me feel a little less helpless.
I will keep you updated.
