View Full Version : Question about orthotics

I need your opinions on something. I had really good custom-made othrotics made less than a year ago by a physical therapist. I had no problems with them. Late July, I ruptured my L-5 back disc and had "foot drop" and limped for awhile until the disc thankfully got healed through rehab from the same physical therapist. This past Christmas Eve I slipped on black ice and while I didn't fall I REALLY strained that same foot/ankle and was limping again. I saw my massage therapist about 2 weeks ago and she said that I was a mess-it was liked I was being pulled to my left side. She recommended a chiropractor who "readjusted" that ankle 4 times over a month; each time he did it it felt better. Now, I have lower left back pain in the Piriformis muscle region and left knee pain-the chiro thinks that the orthotics are the cause of it! I am going back to the physical therapist Monday who made the orthotics; is it possible that since I was walking funny so many times and since he adjusted my ankle that the orthotics may also need readjusting? It makes sense to me, but I'm kinda baffled..what do you think-thanks!
