how do i find out if my surgery went wrong i had my right hand done feb 3rd last year and my left done april 3rd not quit a year yet and i knew something was wrong right awayi also woke up during the surgery and i felt like my arm was on fire,afterwards i went 3 more months of pt now i have severe pain in my upper back ,arms and shoulders,they sent me for another emg...and im told i have severe cy how is that possible if i just had the surgery? does any one know? what do i do to find out

Seek another opinion not associated with the facility where you had surgery.

I'd look for a hand surgeon/ortho surgeon specializing in upper extremities.

I agree with what Taimse said. Find a surgeon who deals with hands or upper extremity at a different facility. Please keep us updated. :)

I had complications after first ct release on left hand. Went for a second opinion at Mayo in MN, where I was told by physical medicine hand doc that the problem was old nerve damage and didn't have to do with the surgery, even though symptoms were much different after surgery. The place I had surgery is affiliated with Mayo
I went to a hand doctor who specializes in upper extremeties ( he was voted as one of the best by his peers in Twin Cities metro area). He did an extended ct release, guessing that the damage was proximal( towards elbow) to incision. The nerve had been nicked so some of the nerve fibers weren't connected anymore. He said it will neve be 100%. When I told the original ortho surgeon that, he said that is why we have you sign an informed consent.

Im Curious Because I Still Have Pain And Tingling And Days Hands Is Useless. And They Wont Do An Mri. The Dr Keeps Insisting On Another Surgery But I Keep Refusing, Mainly Out Of Fear That I Will Lose The Use Of My Hand Altogether!!!
