So, what does it mean when the doctor says you had another positive stress test and that he would have you on the first medi-vac to the city for an angiogram if I hadn't already had one that showed only 40% 6 weeks ago. Can a 40% go to blocked enough to give a failing stress test in 6 weeks? Waiting for MORE TESTS (arghhh!) ...x-ray/ultrasound with dye to find out what is up. Doctor was pissed with me because he couldn't explain and can't find me in his textbook. Jerk!

crabby,
My understanding is that a stess test can show signs with as little as 50 percent blockage. The estimate of 40% is not too far off. You also asked if one can go from 40 to failing (40 to 50) in as little as 6 weeks?
During my first angiogram they noted my LAD had 50% blockage (stress test indicated ischemia in that area) but they did not stent it. Three months later I was back in because that same blockage was now at 90%.
