View Full Version : Surgery for foot nerve entrapment plus plantar fasciitis

I am considering surgery for nerve entrapment that came after three years of plantar fasciitis. The doctor says that since my left foot hurts on the sides (definite sore spots), it's nerve entrapment. I have custom orthotics that help the PF - but not the nerve issue. The pain is just terrible 24x7. I've had physical therapy, cortisone injection (for PF), and lots of stretches and ice. The scariest part of the surgery is that the doctor said I will have to be totally off my foot for three months.

I am (was) an avid tennis player and I'm pretty sure that is what caused this. I have a sit down job - that involves a lot of jumping up and down and walking to meetings.

Has anyone had this type of injury and surgery to fix it? The doctor says he will fix both the nerve entrapment and the plantar fasciitis at the same time. (The other foot only has mild PF - it's improved.) I'd especially like to know about the recovery time.
