Hi everyone,
My youngest child is 11 years old and has had really bad abdominal pain for about 2 months now. In that time we have been to the hospital about 6 times and at first they treated her for constipation. They did a number of blood tests and while her bilirubin levels were raised they did not seem overly concerned about this. She was also feeling a lot of pain in her chest.
Over the weeks she has been diagnosed with acid reflux though she is still undergoing tests. I have had no information from the hospital as to diet etc and she has not actually seen a specialist yet. She takes rinitidine 150mg twice a day and has gaviscon. She has been taking these medications for three weeks now and she seems to be getting worse.
She is in so much pain that she has missed nearly 6 weeks of schooling. She is in agony with abdominal pain, chest pain and now she is feeling it in her throat. I can hear it gurgling inside her and she is belching more now. Her pain is constant but is worse when she eats.
She had a scan last thursday and she has a polyp on her gall bladder. Does anyone know if this would cause any of this or is this something different? I know that the gall bladder is responsible for secreting the acid.
I feel so sorry for her and it is really awful to watch your child suffer like this. I am so frustrated and angry at the amount of time that it has taken for my daughter to get this scan and her appointment with the specialist is not til the end of April.
Any advice anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.
