Hi all. I'm new to this board, but was diagnosed with addison's about a year and a half ago. I have done really well since being on hydracortisone (20 mg). However, lately my feet and ankles have been swelling badly. Is this a symptom or a side effect from the steroid or something else altogether? Thank you very much. I have learned a lot from reading y'alls posts!
You need to go back to the doctor soon. The swelling could be a sign of heart/lung problems. good luck.

You should call the endo. I had the same problem and I had to lower the florinef. Now I am off the florinef and my legs and ankles do not swell nor get hard.
You need to have some blood work done.

Talk to me about going off of Florinef. I just left the hospital from having a cat scan on my kidneys. They noticed how swollen I was in the legs all the way up and the ankles. My Endo was contacted, and now I have to go off the florinef gradually. I feel great other than the kidney stones dizzy wise, so I am scared.
I have to taper to one every other day for two weeks and then go one day on one day off for another two days. then quit.
What did you do?
