I have had diarreah (spelling sorry) for over a year now, I can't seem to get any answers from my doctor other than 'stress related'. I have been told that I am hypo-thyroid, according to doctor. The thyroid count will go way down and way up (yo-yo effect). Has any one else with Thyroid problems been also having loose bowel problems? Is it connected? Any help with be appreciated.

I also have hypothyroidism as well as IBS and diverticulosis. I had my gall bladder removed about 10 years ago as well. I don't know if any of these conditions are related to low thyroid, but the thyroid controls or affects so many things that I guess it could be possible. I never know what's going to set off my IBS but I do know for sure that dairy and certain vegetables cause problems. Have you been tested to find out if you are lactose intolerant? I am also lactose intolerant and I get bad gassy diarrhea if I eat cheese, ice cream, or drink milk. So I stick to lactose-free milk, aged cheeses and frozen yogurt. Hope some of this helps!
