First you tell who ever you plan to be involved with that you have herpes. If they decide to still have sex with you then you makes sure you two are safe and take the necessary steps to make sure that you reduce the risk of passing it to them. Use condoms and don't have sex if you feel like your having an outbreak or have one. Oral sex is fine too with dental dam or condoms to reduce the risk of infection. Now if you both have herpes the good thing is that you won't re infect them or make it worse. The only thing that is important to know what type they have HSV1 or HSV2 cuz if you have one and they have the other, then yall is infecting eachother with the other strain. Its still possible to have a fulfilling sex life just be honest and open and be safe.

So If we both have hsv 2 whats the worst that chould happen if we have unprotected sex and do oral on each other, (male and female). We are married and recently found out she had gotten it from a relationship prior to me.

That's right. If you both have it, you don't have to worry about anything. You might not have sex during OB because it could hurt. But you don't have to worry about re-infecting each other or making it worse. I'd also say you don't have to worry about getting it orally either. Oral type 2 is rare and if you've both had type 2 a while, your bodies have the antibodies to prevent re-infection in another location.

Cool, I was always afraid of getting it on my face. I still wash very well with anti bactiral soap when we are done.

Someone on the board said she got it on her face once. It is still rare for that to happen and even if it does, it should only happen once. In the rare cases where hsv 2 is oral, it rarely recurs. Within a marriage, especially since you both already have it, I would take the very low risk.

Washing with hot soapy water should help too.
