would a cold sore medication like zovirax (sp?) help with genital herpes? The lesions I get occur at my sacrum, at the ischial "crack" :) I was just curious. I take my lovely valtrex when I have my yearly or bi-yearly outbreak. Clears it up in a week. I just got to thinking that since my sores aren't actually in the genitals and are not on any mucous membrane, that the creams or topicals might be helpful, in addition to the valtrex. I'll understand if I need to ask my doc about this, but I thought I'd just see. I see her next month.

Oh, and any idea WHY it shows up there and not actually on my genitals? It is in the boxer area, but just seems like such a random place,unless it has something to do with the nerve tract there??????
