let me get right to the point here. About 8 yrs ago i broke out in painful blisters , went to a clinic, dr looked at me, no tests what so ever so you have herpes. Gave me medicine . I never had an outbreak again since then. I do notice i break out in a rash from time to time on my butt, pimples. Dr said its from sitting all day at work. Ok whatever. Then about 1 yr ago i got tested for hpv. Ugh high risk positive. normal paps. Now i have a double whammy. So im thinking hpv is coming out positive because of the supposed herpes i contracted. Now , Is it possible to have both viruses or do they interact with each other? Now am I at even higher risk for cervical cancer? What can I do to protect myself from these ugly viruses causing me any harm? Can I think of these viruses like a common cold?chicken pox? or are they life threatening?

I have both viruses, so it is possible to carry both. I don't think they interact with each other though.

My friend has HPV and developed cervical cancer, however she was able to be treated and is now in the clear, so there is hope that it wont do horrible damage :)

I have both too. Herpes first and then 2 yrs. later HPV. Viruses weaken your immune system, therefore making you more suseptible. Neither will go away, unfortunately life-long. Herpes is managable and my HPV hasn't gotten any worse from 1st. diagnosis - now getting "normal" paps. (2x per yr) I take vitamins and various supplements in hopes it boosts my immune system. However, stress aggrevates the herpes. If it isn't one thing it's another, but it could always be worse......-Orn

What supplements do you take ? I take a multivitamin with herbs, an immune action pill (herbal) I take L-lysine(dont know if this is safe everyday?????) i take extra vitamin C.. But why didnt the dr prescribe Valtrex? I was never tested just visually checked 8 yrs ago, I had a blood test 8 yrs ago said HSV1 9.42H and HSV2 2.47H what does that mean? Anyway any advice? Also I get pimples lately on my butt how can I get rid of them? Im a mess =( I also have hpv high risk but all tests normal. I need advice on how to keep these viruses at bay =) thanks!

How are you doing? I hope all is well for you...well i have a question, well you already know about my story how i was diagnosed with both Herpes like a month ago or so. Well me and my current bf haven't had sex yet, but we both kinda want to, i rather wait til i get another test for genital herpes because on how one test came back negative and the next one was positive. So my doctor said it'll be better to get another one done just to be sure. Anyways, my question is...i still haven't gotten any symptoms or ob (knock on wood) do you think it's ok to have sex now just as long as we use a condom? And the other question is, i haven't been prescribed medicine yet do you think it'll be better if i start now or later when i start getting symptoms? Well thanks for your help in advance!
