I just had my third son 10 weeks ago. About 3 weeks post partum I started having palpitations. They usually last steadily for about 5 to 15 minutes. They are almost entirely when I lay down at night, and they go away when I sit up. I find them quite unnerving, and I would like to know if anyone else out there is having similar symptoms? I have other symptoms like chest tightness, and anxiety.
I am being tested for the usual, but so far nothing can be blamed. I have read about perri partum cardiomyapthy, and it is a post partum heart disease with a 50% mortality rate. Very scary, but I am hoping thats not it obviously.

Hi,

Have you had your thyroid checked? I was recently diagnosed with hypothyrodism. I also have palpatations and have undergone heart tests. My heart is fine, it was my thyroid problem causing the palpatations. I know that some women develop thyroid problems during pregnancy. Hope this helps.
