I have done alot of research of when exactly to take the Whey Protein Shakes and a lot of them said:
- When you wake up in the morning
- Around 30min before workout
- Immediately after your workout

Well, my question is: when i work out i do a 5-10min warm up cardio, then my weights, then about 30min cardio after. Should i drink the protein shake after my weight lifting or after my 30min cardio?

Thanks

This would probably be better answered on the fitness and exercise board. I only know after exercise. I'm not sure if it's after weights or total workout. I think most people tend to do all their cardio and then their weights, so then it would be easy. You are, technically, still using a lot of your muscles when doing cardio, so if I had to take a guess, it would be after total workout. Plus, who wants to do cardio after drinking a shake?:)

When you drink a protein shake depends on why you are drinking it. For maintenance it is best 1st thing in the morning to prevent loss of muscle mass and fuel your metabolism.

To build serious muscle do both, protein moves through your body very quickly. So within 10/20 after your workout it's when your muscles needs quick help to repair.

In the end it boils down to your goals.
