If some one previously tested positive for herpies( a year or more ago) and just recently had a pap smear and checked out negative for std's. What does this mean?

STD test don't include herpes test, you have to specifically ask for it. If you tested positive a year or so ago, you got it, its a virus and it stays with you for life. 50% of people don't have signs or symptoms, but still have it, and still risk passing it on.
