I have been having trouble with this as well. Went to the the ear/nose and throat man and he finally did some testing only to find out the one tube in my ear is small than the other and this will cause lots of trouble. It may be wise for you to go to an ent.

Hi danabarb

Just reading your post and you've just brought back a memory to me. It was also mentioned to me by my GP that I had one ear tube smaller than my other one.

Have you been told what kind of problems this could cause by the ENT? I would be interested to find out. When I went to my ENT it was not mentioned to me that they had noticed anything like this with my tubes, I can't even remember them actually looking in my ears!!

Yes, what ear tubes are we talking about? The actual ear canal from your "ear hole" to the eardrum? Or the eustachian tubes? If it's the latter, I'd like to know how they measured those, since they're not visible through an otoscope. And what problems can be caused by this? I've had various "ear problems" my whole life and now I wonder if the vertigo/off balance stuff isn't just another part of the same problem.

when the doc mentioned it to me it must have been the part they can see from the ear hole to the ear drum as I know they can't really see past that. Don't know if it is significant in any of this but tons of docs have looked in my ears over the years and only one has mentioned it.
