I would like to know if I should wait till my periord cleared before the 24 hours urine test.
So far, my Cretinine reading is 0.78, BUN is 7 while my after meal blood sugar is 152. But prior to the blood test, I had been on 3 months no sodium and very very low protein diet but with high carbohydrates. Would this make the test false negative?
I am 51 y/o female, My major symptoms are swollen face, legsm hands. Low stamina, feel sleepy. Sodium worsens the swelling more than protein. I have been having occult blood in my urine for more than 19 years. During my two pregnancies, I had toxemia, worse during the second pregnancy.

24 hour urine only checks for protein and creatinine. It doesnt matter if you have a period unless they wants to check your urine for analysis. I dont think your diet will make any change. Its your kidney's ability to function is what they test.
