View Full Version : Need some opinion's-very painful feet....

Hello all,

In my research to figure out what is wrong with my foot/feet, I almost forgot about the really nice and helpful folks here at Healthboards~!

Long story short...was diagnosed in 2005 with MS/Neurologic problems as well as having an Arnold Chiari Malformation in my brain, and an auto-immune disease called Sjogren's Syndrome.

In the past, while exercising, my toes would go numb. No longer do I exercise as I have terrible balance problems, and weak ankles. (they either turn inward and roll or sometimes outward and roll)

For the past 15 months I have complained to my 'team' of doctor's that my feet hurt, yet they seem to never listen to me. My Rheumy just took x-rays of both feet and said no arthritis was found.

Before, both feet just hurt to walk on them....a day on my feet landed me on the couch mid-afternoon. NOW....oh my gosh...I cannot walk without pain and I'm sure I look like I'm seriously disabled.

I have developed what seems to be small bunion's on the outside and inside toes of both feet. However, that isn't what concern's me......what bothers me most is that I have this soft, lumpy area on the inside of my arch (from big toe down side of foot) as well as the top, of my left foot. If I wear shoes, oh man, the shoes press on these squishy areas and I'm in intense pain. I'm stuck wearing slippers most of the time, and now, it's almost impossible to wear even slippers. If I push on these lumpy/squishy areas, my toes go numb...almost like an electric pain travels to my toes. (not to mention the extreme pain of even trying to do this)

My appointment with the pod isn't for two more weeks. Any suggestions on what to look up so that I can go in prepared with questions?

Sorry for the long winded post, and for reading it all, if you got this far.

Thanks for any and all suggestions,

Suzy

I would suggest you consider getting an opinion from an orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon as well as the podiatrist.

I hope you could get some answers and some relief.

I remember hearing that a Dr. Lee Dellon in Baltimore has experience in Sjogren's Syndrome as it relates to nerve pain.

You may want to research that name and see if he has any information that might be useful to you.

Let us know how you make out.

Wishing you the best of luck!
