I have been taking one 30mg Prevacid for 2 weeks now and I still get heartburn. Does it take a few weeks to fully work or do I need to make another trip to the doctor. I hope not because I really cant afford to see the doctor again. Please help.

It takes time, some people get cured in one month, others in 6 months or longer. It also depends on your diet.
I have it for 4 yrs already, it comes and goes and it depends on my diet, if I ate oranges, tomatoes, any salad dressings high in vinegar, or snacking at night, then I will get hearthburn at night.

If after a few months your symptom doesn't improve, just call your doctor for a different prescription ( also ask for free samples that you can pick them up, so you can try them first before you fill your prescription). I don't think you need to come back to see him again.
