I think that you should talk to your family dr and tell him that you feel that way, and he will make sure the right tests are formed and you will know for sure, but you need to express how you feel towards your dr!

Hi: Are you seeing a family physician or an OB/GYN? There are blood tests to check hormone levels and ultra-sound to help to detect cysts. Of course there are all of the symptoms as well.

If you haven't seen an OB/GYN or yours is not giving you any info, I would seek out a new GYN, preferrably one who has a large patient base with GYN related conditions. Maybe even an endocrinologist or fertility specialist.

Good luck and keep us posted, cmpgirl

The most effective ways for testing is through an ultrasound as well as having all of your hormones tested through bloodwork. It's funny that you mentioned diabetes symptoms because insulin resistance is in fact related to PCOS and the release of eggs in the body. Do some research online you will find huge amount of information on it. Tell your gynecologist you suspect you may have it and that you would need an ultrasound and bloodwork to test. Regular doctors aren't very knowledgeable on this subject as I found out through years of wasted investigation through many...It wasn't until that I got a very reputable gynecologist that she immediately knew what was wrong and we proceeded to test and confirm it all.

Hope this helps you!
