HI there, i am wondering about swelling from cirrhosis? How does it feel, look location? I am waiting to have an abdominal CT scan and am thinking it's ithier Liver related or gallbladder related, but the cirrhosis adds up more and theres a family history but not sure if it can be hereditary? Also i know these are of many things but thisis what i have experienced :
Lack of appetite
Weight loss
Nausea
Small, red spider veins under your skin or easy bruising
Weakness
Fatigue
Yellowing of your skin and eyes and dark, cola-colored urine (not this that i see)
Bleeding from engorged veins in your esophagus or intestines (not thast i know of)
Loss of interest in sex
Fluid in your abdominal cavity (ascites)
Itching on your hands and feet and eventually on your entire body(itching in different spots)
Swelling of your legs and feet from retained fluid (edema) (not sure , but swelling)
Mental confusion, such as forgetfulness or trouble concentrating (encephalopathy)
Thanks sooo much!

it could be both or the other
the galbladder can back up the liver also
it will take the test to know forsure
i think it would swell under right rib cage the liver
but you might get that from galbladder also

hopesprings, thats what i'm thinking, as it doesn't seem to effect what i eat or don't eat and no vomiting and thats what's got my Dr. confused and hopefully the CT scan will show what's going on. I have been on pain meds a few years now and before that i had some heavy binge drinking but not over a long time. My grandma has the Cirrosis of the liver, thats why i was wondering if it can be heridetary. More of the symptoms lead to the liver in my eyes as i get the itching ect. And eveyone wether the food effects them or not when have had a gallbladder attack they have been very bad. And besides my back pain i have been dealing with i sleep just fine , the worst effects it has had on me is my stomach issues as far as going to the bathroom and such and the discomfort i get in that area but i guess i am kinda of a hyochadriac so i jump the gun sometimes but something is not right is all i know and i have recently had in the last six months or so a ultrasound and hidiscan for the gallbladder and that was all clear and i think it would have showed somethng. It seems like it would have showed the liver One thing i also don't understand is when i had the ultrasound they did the hidiscan for what they said they saw something but couldn't make it out and thats why they did the hidiscan so maybe they didn't get a good look at the liver with the ultrasound. take care, Monkey
