i was on brand name toprol for 3 yrs and i was fine. now they switched to generic toprol last month and im always tired and feel week. is there a difference?? 50 mg ive been on

I'm not sure but I was on the name brand for a year and a half and was then switched to the generic and I noticed a difference too. I asked my doctor about it and he said that it's possible that you can get used to a drug and then it won't work as effectively. He switched me to Pindolol (also b/c I told him I wanted to have a baby and it's a better pregnancy drug) and I like it, I'm feeling fine on it. You may want to talk to your doctor about it, you may want to get a new drug.

i know alot of people say they have to have the real toprol not the other
i would ask for the real one

I've been on several message boards and many, many people are saying the same thing. I had problems on the generic and made my dr. give me a script that says "dispense as written". If you do a goole search I think you will come up with a lot of the message boards that I have read. Just type in generic Toprol not working.
