View Full Version : Small, sudden skin wound

This morning, I found a small patch 1cm in diameter of dead skin on my otherwise-healthy skinned left buttock. It was a little thick in texture, and when I tried to brush it off, it uncovered a bleeding wound underneath. After showering, it stopped bleeding and took on a hard, glossy feel. I have very healthy skin, so I don't know where it could've come from.

Does anyone know where something like this could've come from? Thank you!

Get it checked out right away. It could be skin cancer. I have skin cancer on my shoulder, a little smaller than a dime. Doc is taking it off next Friday. Mine started out small, like the head of a pin. It itched, and when I scratched it, it bled and never healed up. Got bigger and I thought it was a boil but after two weeks of heat treatments and tea tree oil it did not get better so went to the doc and had a biopsy. Doc said I should be okay after he takes it off. No chemo or radiation. So, go get yours checkout, okay.:)

Sounds like a plan, Julie. Should I see my regular doctor about this or a specialist? You're right about the itching--it didn't occur until just recently, but it's itching and a little sore now.

Thanks so much for your help.
