My doc expects I will get to 100%...get off meds. He said it can come back..but if the med works the first time..it often works the 2nd time around.

I definitely hope it isn't forever, I can not even begin to imagine if it will always be like this. I think most people recover, some it takes longer than others. It is 3 3/4 months for me and not better yet.

Personally, I feel everyone can get well...with VN and labs, VRTS are the key, migraines...diet and meds, and meinere's is diet and vitamins. There are also other illnesses out there that can cause dizziness.

I think you just need to find out whats causing you not to get better. Migraine could be your answer. I think you are making a good choice by going back to see a neurologist.

D & S I used to feel it would never go away but I have to say 2 years 6 months down the line it does, just KEEP ON THAT DIET and you will see.

Jayne
are you on any meds or did things just drastically improve with the diet? Also what were your sypmtoms previously?

D & S I dont take any meds now for dizzies, occasional paramax when I feel a bit heady and nauseaous, I have cut out all food additives, junk food, ready meals etc when eating at home everything is now made from scratch cutting out any of the trigger foods in the diet, I feel so much better and have so much more energy than I have had for years, certainly dont need caffine to get me moving in a morning any more, occasionally I have an off moment or two but nothing like what I've had in the past and certainly livable. Eldest daughters 18th yesterday, organised/ing a BIG party for next Saturday (100+ guests) No way could I have done that 12 or even 6 months ago.
Stay calm and dont worry when you hit a blip.

so you were never on a migraine med or you were and you are weaned off? What were your symptoms before the diet and shortly after??

No Meds before for Migraine, beforehand off balance, fuzzy head, tingling in side of head and over scalp and down face, ear fullness, itchy ears, weird vision stuff, feeling like I was on the outside looking in, tingling in toes and fingers, terrible IBS, the list is pretty endless. . .lol. Now still a few floaters in vision which I only notice when I look for them, a little ear fullness, like there is fluid trying to drain but cant, but the main thing is I dont feel off balance or dizzy, occasionally a little moment but gone before I can stop and worry about it, I may even have had those short moments before all this started. Everyone says I look better, my hair has stopped falling out (stress maybe due to illness), my skin is better (went very dry during bad times) I have 6 hours a day more energy, and most of all I feel part of my family again!

I notice on another post of yours you have had a bad week, these came and went and each time they went I felt I was possibly a bit better, the diet for me really was the main turning point, then during a trip to Thailand over Christmas I felt very good, I did think when I got back home that feeling would go, but touch wood nope I'm pretty good right now.

Try to keep busy it takes your mind off how you feel and reduces the anxiety loads, play a board game with the kids or something like that.
