Hi Sharon. Years ago, I tried the patch. My skin was too sensitive for it, and yes, it did leave big red welts on my skin. To boot, it was actually too much nicotine for me and I got really sick. I've heard others say wonderful things about it as a cessation aid, I hope that it works for you! :D
