I wrote awhile back about waiting for a MRI. I picked up the report myself cause the doc wasn't getting back to me. She finally did, saying she was waiting for neur. to confir with her. No mass or tumors but a "spongy" area was found and the radiologists is recommending a second one done with an injection. My doc said they are waiting till my appt with the neor. on APRIL 17th because he may order a different type??? I've been suffering from migraines for many years. One migraine, left a pain and weird(numbing) feeling on the left side on my head that won't go away and worsens as the day goes on. It's been there for weeks now. I also have lightheadedness, fatigue, nausea, losing my balance once in awhile, feeling confused, and have a hard time getting through my work day(pre-school teacher at day care center) and and when I get home I'm done for the day. I pretty much can't do anything fun with family and friends on the weekends. My docs have left me high and dry until the appt in April. I am so angry! I have been on Effexor and when all this started they upped the Topomax again to 100mg twice a day and added Propranolol 60mg twice a day, and prescibed Tramadol 60mg for the pain(which hasn't been helping lately). I do have Zomig and had Butalbital that I'm trying to get my doc to give me a refill of but I don't know if she will cause she gave me the Tramadol which isn't helping. I feel my doc just doesn't want to do anything more since she referred me to the neuro. who's backed up till then so they're letting me be in pain and miserable. Any advice, suggestions, similarities out there??? Tami

Hi Tami,

Can you get the book "Heal Your Headaches" by a Doctor Buccholz? This book helped me tons with all the symptoms I was having. Of course you want to get your symptoms checked out....Keep us posted.

OK, I am just going to throw this out there...I have never had headaches. Just clicked on this board out of interest. Anyway, I was watching a show on Discovery Health the other day...Mystery Diagnosis... and this lady had migraines for a long time. Long story short, she had what is known as a patent foramen ovale. The foramen ovale is a hole between the left and right atrium of the heart that is present in fetal development. It should closes shortly after birth but sometimes it doesn't. Could you possible have a heart problem? Her doctors misdiagnosed her for awhile.
